I wonder where I would find such a super track, hmm

I wonder where I would find such a super track, hmm
Messini won the Ouyen Cup last season around 1:56.5.
I'd pretty well written that horse off as a force but his Swan Hill Cup win was the Messini of old. Just watched the replay of Yarra Glen and he was motoring home with Lenny reeling off a 54.2 last half.
The Bendigo track excelled last night. Warm night, no breeze and terrific racing.
The Track Record was broken by a 3yo, KONAN. 3 wide at the bell, 3 wide down the back and ran the last 2 quarters in 27.2 and 28.1
for a 1:52 mile rate. over 2150 metres.

If it wasn't for the second place-getter coming close, I would have thought the time ridiculously good but it was set up for them. It is still ridiculous for a C0. We will follow these two with interest
1.52.0 for 1650m Noel
Oops...sorry about the distance miscue.
The owner says that Konan will have a let up and then aimed at next year's derbies. It has a very big motor !
Future Operator sizzled on Friday night as well.
Two Bendigo Track Records broken Friday night:
1150m MS FUTURE OPERATOR 10 Nov 2017 1:51.3
1650m MS KONAN 10 Nov 2017 1:52.0
Races under 1609m rate lower than monte races IMO
Stroke Of Luck broke the St Arnaud Tk in today's Cup - rating 1.58.3 for 2150m on the 805m track (I always thought it was smaller than that)

I cant get my head around the monte races either let alone the 1150m races.

Pretty quick mile rate for an MO at GP tonite by Reaza Grunter 1:54:00
Lazarus broke Quinn's Tk Rec
Across the ditch in Auckland, the next superstar of the sport won the 2700m stand, $50,000 Franklin Cup first up. Rated 1:59.0, almost equalled his own NZ record.
Vincent.
Ameretto is not the only star mare in the Manning stable
At Ballarat tonight, Our Golden Goddess equalled her stablemate's Tk Rec for 2200m going 1.54.4

She is very good. Another ex-Purdon / Rassmussen filly, she was probably third in the pecking order behind Dream About Me and Picadilly Princess in her year. The 4th in line, My Mackenzie, has won about $300k in the USA this year and is now one of the best mares over there. Great group of fillies to have in your stable!
It certainly has been amazing domination by one stable Trevor. No doubt they have the clients with the money to spend and the trainer knows how to pick them - It is 'Bart Cummings like' maybe even something more as they don't just dominate one staying race, they dominate across the board
It was Lightening Mile night at Ballarat tonight
but it was in the 1710m C2 race that a sensational New Tk Rec was created by 4yo Beach Surge
He took 1.2 secs off the Rec when he recorded a MR of 1.51.8
This takes his record to 6 wins from 12 starts
His dam Lagoon Lady was a Free For All'er who won over $200k at the start of this century

At Bathurst on Boxing Day's night, the press release from the meeting praises:
Quote:
The other feature race, the Ray and Olive McCarthy Memorial, drew an outstanding field of 3C0/3C1 fillies, and produced a new track record for that class when Major Occasion maintained its unbeaten record this season with a dominant performance.
The Art Major daughter, a Vicbred champion at two, did plenty of work before putting paid to favourite and leader Miss Keesha NZ, then holding off a late charge from Callmequeenbee.
Closing quarters of 27.9 and 28.8 seconds rounded out a mile rate of 1:54.8, taking almost half a second from the standard set in the corresponding race last year by 3YO filly-of-the-year Don’t Think Twice.
Yes, a Class Record Steve, with the filly only a couple of secs outside the Tk Rec. I wish class records were included in Track details
Charlaval's 1.58.2 was a Tk Rec for the 2790m Gp2 but it was only the second race over that distance
Beach Surge is on a quick back-up and is going around in R5 at Kilmore tonight

Bettors Fire went 1.52.6 tonight at GP. I think it's juuust outside the track record. Just insane how quickly GP records fall
Our Uncle Sam took 1/2 a second off the 1660mt track record at Parkes last night rating 1.55.3 for trainer Chris Frisby
At Maitland on Sat night Our Triple Play Brad Hewitt lowered the 2422mt record to 1.59.8
I looked that name up the other day but now I cannot find it - is he married to a Turnbull?
Clock at GP must have been on rollerskates last night. Our horse went 1.52.6. Cut For An Ace went 1.51.6 (.2 outside Chicago Bulls record) and a 1.53.8 for Abraxas Blues. These were all M0-M3! Errors pretty sure
They would have had the track in tip top condition for the big night Katie and you wouldn't think they could have all those times wrong BUT I can see your point - Cut For An Ace is a 10yo improving his best MR by 2.5 secs
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...s/?mc=GP190118
Edit: I have since found that he was only beaten 9.5m when they went 1.52.5 so maybe it was only a 1.5 sec personal best for Cut For An Ace - still amazing for a 10yo
Not a real quick time, what did everyone think of Bechers Brook last night at GP?
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...18#GPM19011854
Bechers is definitely nice looking
Yeh Jack Mac's in for Pinjarra Monday first up. Probably still a bit fat I'd say but if all goes well in the next couple weeks and he comes back as good as he was as a baby I think dad will take him over. Might take Culpeka from nz too...
I finally caught up with Cruz Bromac's run from last Saturday (having missed R1)
He was first up for a year and from the horror draw was 3w for 1200m (2 bends) of the 1720m trip so the 1.51.6 was a super run as suggested in the following article
http://www.harnesslink.com/Australia...ongues-wagging
It will be interesting to see what he does over the 2240 of tonight's R6
3yo Higherthananeagle broke the Cobram 2170m Tk Rec today in the George Croxford Tribute going 1.55.2.
The record was nearly 8yo so it was probably overdue to go
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#COC05021807
Bee Gees Bandit set a NTR in the R1 C0 at Horsham today rating 1.53.8 despite sitting in the death
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...S080218&ms=vic
3yo filly Speak No Evil took nearly 2 secs off the Maryborough Tk Rec when she rated 1.52.4 today
Speak No Evil has only had 5 lifetime starts (all this year) and has now notched up 3 wins at Maryborough in 5 weeks
Her dam, Top Tempo was a star juvenile and she has now produced 3 top class juveniles from 3 different sires as her best siblings include Musical Delight and Queen of Pop - all fillies, all bred by Lauriston
It was a huge run by the 2nd horse Boncel Benjamin who sat in the death (with a horse pressuring him 3w for much of the race) as he was only beaten 8m and would have easily smashed the record too
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#MHC09031803
The track at Maryborough was obviously sizzling as Konan broke the old 1690m record in his race and
I think you will find the whole field broke that 2190m Tk Rec in race 8 when Without You rated 1.54.6 taking 0.9 sec off the record (last horse It Is Billy was only beaten 11m)
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#MHC09031801
Spare Me Days broke the 2480mt track record at Young on Sat night in winning the G3 Young Cup rating 1.57 for Brad Hewitt
