Messini's time for the longer 2423m record is still faster however

Ignatius absolutely arrogant in breaking the Penrith track record. Worth watching
It certainly is worth watching. Drew 2nd line, had to work, only a 3yo and smashes the Tk Rec

Cruise control down the straight, Ignatius is a very serious young horse, He deserves a mention in the Family Ties thread for sure
Two year old Bletchley Park goes 1:53.6 at Gloucester Park last night. Does any one know the Australian and WA state record for two year old on half mile track?
Record for 1720m at Melton(1000m) is 1.53.5 held by Nostra Beach so I would say that Bletchley Park’s run would be a record on an 800m track for 2yr olds Grinder
Where did you find that class record for Melton so quickly Rich?
As an aside, why is it that under the list of tracks they all go by their location other than the Metro tracks? Stawell is not listed as Laidlaw Park and so Melton should not be listed as Tabcorp Park. I am not interested in sponsorship to the nth degree and for newbs it would be easier for them to find all of them under location eg Perth not Gloucester Park and Adelaide not Globe Derby Park (although GDP is a suburb of Adelaide)
Go to Google and punch in Australian track records for Pacing Kev
Sprockets trained and driven by Nathan Turnbull smashed the 1800 mt track record at Peak Hill today rating 1.54.8 he was a CO class horse who's previous best was 2.00.8
he was beaten a week ago in a trial at Bathurst btn 30 odd mts 1.58 rate for the winner just goes to show how the track is at Peak Hill regarded by many as the best track in regional NSW
Thanks Rich.
This is the best that comes up folks

One day we will get class records for all tracks, or at least metro tracks, instead of Menangle only
You’re welcome Kev, We need all the states to sharpen up on their particular Track Records/ Class Records etc
Missed this one

3yo Duplicated's 1.55.8 when he won by 35m over 2080m was a Cranbourne Tk Rec
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...18#CRC07061802
In a Vicbred Super Series 3yo heat on a freezing Kilmore night where the temp was probably 4° tops, Ride High after being caught wide early (barrier 7) worked to the death then beat juvenile star Poster Boy with the last half in 54.6 and the last quarter in 25.7. He has now won 4 from 4
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#KIC20061803
He was already there Katie - post 66
Poster Boy has had 17 starts, 12 wins for $379,79 and so that was super impressive from RIDE HIGH who worked alot harder.
He's out of ALL THE MAGIC (LIVE OR DIE USA) who's out of CELEBRITY BALL.
Would it be crazy to breed RIDE HIGH's grand-dam CELEBRITY BALL to LIVE OR DIE USA? to get a full sis / bro to ;
ALL THE MAGIC dam of RIDE HIGH and ROCKNROLL MAGIC $456,763 and
THE GOOD TIMES $201,024 dam of up and comers ROCK CLASSIC (6 wins f. 21 starts $42,924) and MAJOR TIMES (3yo 5 wins f. 13 starts $59,180)
Into You's 1.54.9 in the last at Warragul was only 0.1 outside the Tk Rec
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...R240618&ms=vic
I missed Rocknroll Icon's 1.53.7 Tk Rec for 2200m at Ballarat last Friday
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#BAC22061803
There is no NTR in the stewards column but if the time is right
Winkanditsover (and 2nd place Code Bailey - the phenomenal run) SMASHED the Shep 2190m Tk Rec today by going 1.54.9 (old Rec 1.55.7)

I received an interesting email from an astute follower. Here is an extract
"The times weren't a result of some change to the track profile or maintenance. In the main the quality of fields over that time hadn't altered greatly, in some cases I was seeing the same horse trained by the same trainers?
Eventually I concluded it was a result of the mindset of the younger drivers. You will be familiar with the older trainer/drivers who knew almost to the second a horse's ability and would drive to (i) save their horse for next week and (ii) to ensure it picked up a place check, where possible.
Well the younger drivers don't have the weekday attachment to their horse. They jump into the sulky, drive the horse in most instances making greater use of the horse and after the race hand the reins back to the trainer."
It is no doubt a factor - one that I had never thought of
I'd say we have seen an improvement on tracks and equipment and horses Kev. But what your emailer writes is very very true the overwhelming difference is a change in driving style that prioritise what happens today over what comes tomorrow.
WHEREYABINBOPPIN was super impressive and great for new sire A ROCKNROLL DANCE USA.
It will be interesting to see how other MODERN ART USA mares cross with ARNRD.
Let It Ride's 1.54.8 for 2680m in the Gp1 Blacks A Fake broke the Tk Rec of 1.55

No speed explosion at Cranbourne - looking at the times they run you would think we have gone back a decade and it isn't just today
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...&fromstate=vic
There 3 pacing track records have all been made to look semi-respectable by improved times just this year but overall it is a surprisingly slow track

Why are half a dozen C3 class horses contesting the 2 M0 Vicbred Championship heats at Melton on Saturday?
If they were to win don't they still jump to a C6 class and lose a couple of prospective C wins?
Or are all their connections thinking they can win both the heat and a somewhat restricted richer final (for want of a better description). A horse that wins a heat and the final is going to be assessed M1 or M2?
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#MXM04081803
Been 1 win 1 penalty for some time now Kev. If a C3 wins the M0 it becomes an M1 C4 and R+1 to what it's R assesment was going into the race. There are C3s racing in M0s at Gloucester Park all the time.
Thanks Dot, I did not mean to put my question in this thread but here it can stay
Probably should have been in with short priced favourites Kev. For if that now C4 M1 winner is a mare and connections put a junior driver on it can race as a C2. I think if it goes another ten starts without a win it can drop back with mares concession and junior driver and race as C1. This is what Brenno and Danno have posted about previously.
Clancys Fobwatch's 1.54.9 was not too far off the Mildura Tk Rec (1.54.2)
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#MLC10081801
I think Mildura's days of being a little satellite state of its own may be coming to an end as more trainers from further afield realize they pay regular Aussie dollars up there too
Fantastic time in the first at Bendigo tonight by Franco Tristan
Gavin Lang's latest import might be something special
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#BNC10081802
Coasting Kev, Does look a bit special
And he should have plenty of starts in him as he only raced once as a juvenile (at 3yo) and has now had only 27 starts as he comes to the end of his 5yo season
Great speed when you consider that was his first start under 1900m with most of his starts being over 2400++
Gods Spirit NZ (3yo) won in 1.51.0 at his 2nd life time start - Menangle. Home in 53.4. Very impressive.
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...s/?mc=PC140818
Thanks for tipping us off to Gods Spirit Richard. That is an incredible time for a 3yo having its 2nd start.
He came home in 26.9 and 26.5 while winning by 26.3m
Just researching him a little further.
His only other start at Manawatu was 8 months ago and was over 2500m where he was given a bit of scare when $1.20- fav (very short for NZ)
He was exported here 4 months ago
His 3rd dam is a full sis to Lazarus's 2nd dam
They ran good time in the 2yo at Swan Hill tonight = 1.55 which saw the $1.10 finish 3rd
Brallos Pass's Tk Rec is 1.53.5
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#FDC16081807
Think About Me's 1.56.3 MR for 2100m at Geelong tonight was just outside the Tk Rec of 1.56.1
A fair effort for a 3yo on a cold night
Mind you the effort of 2yo Demon Delight to rate 1.57.0 for 2100m in the death at its first start was probably better
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...&fromstate=vic
Think about Me is very well bred Kev
