Maximan would have just bettered his Globe Derby Tk Rec with the place-getters easily doing so as Guaranteed smashed it by 1.5 sec

Yes Kev it equals the best ever rate on the course - the fastest rate ever run on the track before today was 1:56.7 for 1725 metres by open class horse Mister McKinzie in 1996 - before the pegs went on and they raced on the rail then. Here are happy connections after their win today.
We should have mentioned that Intergalactic also broke a record at Warragul - for the new distance of 2210m. The first 4 all within 2.5m of each other suggests this record will continue to fall

Race 6 over the mile at Charlton today was a fast one with all the place-getters only ½ sec outside the Tk Rec
and the first seven all breaking 1.56
