Leap To Fame is $2.25 fav for the Derby BUT barrier 11 has a 4% strike rate at Albion Park
I can see why Cantfindabettorman has come in from $4 to $2.50 since markets opened

There is not much between all 3 place-getters in R1 tonight, Beyond Delight won but Kashed Up and Captain Crusader were tougher runs. All threee were in the Rising Sun and are a tier below Ladies and probably Better Eclipse
How good Soho Historia, 6 in a row for her since joining the Stewart stable and now a Gp1 winner
I bet Robert Watson wishes he didn't let this one go (won for him as a 2yo)
Barrier draws and death seating mean nothing when you are as good as Leap To Fame
Thanks Cody (HRV) for getting this missing replay up for Soho Historia from 7 months ago

Is this the same horse
I'm a bit worried about the sponsor of a couple of races at the Brisbane Show today
Reminded me of "The big dog" that was fast for his time (sub 1.50), perhaps they are telling us what happened to his progeny? Can't think of any winners from him off the top of my head.

OH QLD
Can you think of anything so stupid (and less self-promoting) than naming a feature race after a cricketer

It has to make it simple when you take two horses owned by the same connections, I am not suggesting anything untoward just saying that mapping out tactics has to be simpler
(Good luck Anne)
Jason Grimson quinellas the Redcliffe Cup. PP hates him and has written a very exaggerated account of the race - nothing to see here. Loyalist is a ¾ bro to near millionaire Arden Rooney
A good 2nd by Aardie's Flash in the Derby, hey Trev - what has become of sister Aardie's Express over in NZ?

I can't say I look at Queensland other than their big meetings (too many hobbies) but I just/finally realized that they race for over $9k on Tuesdays too.
Victoria has the most meetings but QLD and NSW certainly have their pros
PP makes what appears to be a valid point that GUS should not be in the $150k Gp1 Great Square on Saturday night
Look at the clip below - you will see NQ (not qualified) after his name for the mobile trial he had before his last start Stand win

The future of the Albion Park Harness Racing Club is uncertain as the Queensland Government paves the way for the Brisbane Olympics.
The Queensland Government has decided to close Albion Park in early 2025, leaving harness racing without a home for 18 months.
Brad Steele, Chairman of Albion Park Harness Racing Club, told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “I think we will see a complete collapse of the harness racing economic ecosystem within Queensland…”
“…To be quite honest I couldn’t see our industry surviving if we just had Redcliffe and Marburg…many of the owners of the better horses and the trotters will send their horses interstate, once they go interstate they don’t come back, it’s lost income,” Mr. Steele continued.

They have all stood around and watched this happen. While there are plans for a new racing and training complex at Norwell (51 km south of Brisabane) that is all they are at this stage - plans.
They are a do-nothing lot in Queensland. The 2009 Inter-Dominion series was transferred from Albion Park to the Parklands (Gold Coast) due to serious structural flaws in AP's main grandstand being discovered and it subsequently being demolished. 14 years on and there is a "temporary judges' box and commentator's booth atop a scaffold opposite the finish line and the demolished stand has never been replaced.
Parklands was demolished 10 years ago for the development of the Commonwealth Games Village. A top 1000 metre track, it was never replaced and the trots on the Gold Coast ceased to exist. In the meantime, APHRC did some sweetheart deal transferring its ownership of Albion Park (for an amount I assume to be well under the market valuation). From that point forward, the Queensland Government and the City of Brisbane have wanted to shut down the track and sporting facilities for the 2032 Olympic Games on the site.
What is left of harness racing in Queensland? All North Queensland racing (Townsville, Cairns, Charters Towers, Mackay, Innisfail) closed years ago, as did the suburban track at Rocklea and another Gold Coast track at Tweed Heads. That leave the triangular track at Redcliffe - unchanged in layout since I first went there in 1978 - and rural Marburg (56 km west of Brisbane) as the remaining tracks. Marburg is devoid of most public facilities and the track is more akin to Victorian trialling clubs. For example, Kyabram would kill it for facilities. Marburg race predominately for $4,000 stakes.
Brad Steele's comments may well become reality. if so, who to blame? Have you got a mirror, Brad Steele?
PP has written off Frankie Ferocious for The Rising Sun after his failure on Saturday
But I am not for before reading that he cast a plate I thought I noticed a hiccup in his action just before the 400m so I am wondering if that is where it happened, mind you I know nothing about these things and I am only watching a rather distant video replay.
Noting the fast Q3 I watched how he was flying down the back then he was actually gone before entering the straight

Read the stewards report & he must not have lost a shoe, sprung one, which is entirely different & apparently a stone was lodged in between, so that's an "ouch". That would pull you up.
You need to be tuned in from 5.30 (R2) for what should be an absolutely FABULOUS night of racing at Albion Park
It is a pity that Bet N Win is a scratching from The Great Square but we cannot have everything - only just about everything
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=AP130724
Wow, surely some questions need to be answered - Frankie was driven as if they knew he was never a chance
https://harnesslink.com/australia/vi...reat-square-2/
It was great to see David win, good on him.
https://harnesslink.com/australia/yo...00-g1-event-2/
It was also terrific to see these guys win. They had a great night. Well done. Excellent.
LTF a cert for the Sunshine Sprint
I know Aardies Express has beaten her from outside the front line before BUT it is hard to go past Ladies
Tune in from 7.10 for tonight's big races
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=AP200724
Can anyone explain to me why in the Hayden at AP tonight, Charge Ahead got a run in front of Attachment??????????
Add Hot Rod Harry to the last question
Is it because Slot Holders choose their horse?
Thanks Kev for your reply. I am not sure if that is the reason , but if not , really??
Maybe the handicappers can answer the question?
I would really like to know.
Worse thing is , I sent an email to HRA about a query about another matter but NO reply.
Hopefully & that is A big hope , someone can explain from Qld HR about my concern about this race. It is NOT a $14 thousand race, it is $200+ thousand race.
If you were a certain stable you would be rather UPSET now HRH is out of the Hayden.
Aardies did not win but the big mare seemed to worry Ladies out of it - Ladies doesn't seem to be the Ladies of old and maybe she should call it a day while she is remembered as the absolute champion she is
Agree Kev.
AE did ALL the work.
And again, how does n jacks horse get a run in front of Rickie Alchins horse in the Protostar????
Is this a slot Kev???
Yes :(
Grimson has 5 runners in the BAF and draws 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
We are getting into 'Powerball Odds' of this happening - was it after this meet last year that he got into all the strife with the QLD authorities?
I don't know that 1 suits LTF but he will win
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...24#APM27072401
Seriously. Could anyone , anyone draw 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13. It would be a million dollar chance in any lottery in the world to do that.
Is that the real draw???
I sorta now hope Grimsom comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd , 4th & 5th.
With LTF deadheating for 1st.
My days of knowing my maths are long gone but I think it may have been a 5 million to 1 chance
Looking on fb it would seem the Protostar was a televised draw so I am thinking The Blacks A Fake would have been too
