I have a lot to learn and not many years to do it in ;)

Top Tempo’s daughters Musical Delight and Queen Of Pop produced a winner each at Bathurst last night. RIPP gelding ( Somebeachsomewhere- Musical Delight) and JUST HOPE filly ( Bettors Delight - Queen Of Pop) both won their 3 year old heats of the Bathurst Gold Series.
Both look to have above average ability.
They certainly do Anne. Just Hope went from $71 winner last start to $1.25 this time. Her time was < 2 secs off Expensive Ego's Tk Rec !
I am going to be interested in why the stewards would have given winner Ripp a QDT?!
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...s/?mc=BH210322
In the Bracelet, Just Hope couldn't quite run up to her heat win while Soho Rhapsody came so decisively that I gained the impression that Rickie Alchin expected her to win
In the Chalice, Ripp was just awesome. The stewards did not have to worry about querying this run as he went forward and destroyed them. Commander Buzz did not have a lot of luck and would be the only runner in this race that you would think Ripp might ever have to worry about in the future

Races 4-7 at Wagga Wagga will be worth a look tonight

A very BIG day at Menangle today/night
A day meeting with the last at 5.54
A night meeting with the first at 6.19

I am pleased to advise that the Board of Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW) has resolved to deliver to the Industry $15million in a suite of funding injections over the next three years commencing from 1 July, 2022.
Thus begins HRNSW Chairman Ken Brown's letter to participants
There is some debate as to whether they are advancing prizemoney etc or just restoring it to pre Covid levels. The $1m for breeding is certainly new but will it improve numbers for all breeders or just the dominant one, whatever, let's hope it results in an increase in foal numbers
The Breeders Challenge fields are up for Saturday
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=PC291022
The TAB has markets up for all of the finals but no market up for the Len Smith
Yes, it is now up Brendan and I missed the $2.80 about Honolua Bay
Max Delight in to $5 from $12 is surprising
We have 4 Gp1 Breeders Challenge Finals on Saturday at Menangle
It is such a contrast to Victoria in that there is no stable dominating.
4 different stables have 2 runners in a race but that is the extent of it
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=PC121122
I really liked Bondi Lockdown's return last night and the way he was driven conservatively - sure the stable had the winner in the 1x1 but I think Luke was never going to ask too much of him last night
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#PCM28012303
I liked the run of Madrid first up, now in all aged, she has not gone that fast before
I wonder who will come down for the Ladyship Cup on Saturday. $100k is not a huge carrot and the Queen Elizabeth mile at Menangle for twice as much, has to be the target of most

After failing to qualify for the NSW Oaks, Jewel Melody bounced back to narrowly beat Oaks finalist Peaceful in a slogging mile at Menangle yesterday

NSW seem to be stealing half Vic's horses
Beach Villa is trained up their now and what seems like half John Justice's stable
plus David Aiken has a couple racing up there still
All in tonight

I want to look at what times Chart Topper ran winning the 5th heat of the Crown
Heat 6 has been run
But the results are not up for Heat 5 still
I just don't understand this
Don't people have set jobs in media and communications when it comes to the trots
Somebody at Bathurst must start the ball/result rolling you would think, maybe HRNSW have a player, then finally RISE as the results are their baby
Somebody has taken a meal break? and just forgotten his job????!!!!!!!
OR
Is Bathurst another Internet Blackhole like Maryborough?
There you go, he/she is either back from their meal break or noticed when putting up Heat 6 that they had forgotten to put up Heat 5 - silly duffer
Gold Chalice and Gold Bracelet heats at Bathurst today
Better Be The Best is one impressive horse, the 3 other Chalice winners were all faster but that 26 Q4 was awesome. I wouldn't mind owning Catalpa Rescue either (any of them really) as I think he is going to be one tough older horse
In the Bracelets, Major Delight suffered her first defeat after 9 victories, we wont give up on her ;) as I think Windy Hill Tara may have caught her napping. Tempting Tigress and Jewel Melody was a great heat
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=BH200323
A very awkward draw for Timmy Rictor in the Crown Final
and Major Delight is going to have to go forward from 7 in the Bracelet Final
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=BH250323
Big Bathurst Night
Em.1 Eye Believe gets a start in the Tiara - she was most unlucky not to be in the field - the deadheat in one of the heats would have been a slower "2nd" than her if there had been a margin not a deadheat
Em.1 Sam By The Seaside gets a start in the Crown.
It of course snowballs into the Consolation emergencies getting starts
R2 is the start of the biggies with the Tiara Consolation at 6.52
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=BH250323
I am not sure what is happening but all the races at Bathurst seem to be an hour later than what they were originally posted to be
The radar does not look flash right now (although passing) so I am thinking 'electrical storms'
In the Bracelet Major Delight proved she was better than the rest of them, as all her rivals had their chance, although Tempting Tigress was a victim of her draw
In the Chalice, Better Be The Best was still the run of the race considering how he blew the start, I reckoned he might have even won if the driver had not panicked but rather opted for one late run at them considering the circumstances - easy in hindsight, I know
Is Nathan Jack suspended? Not driving at Bathurst tonight?
Lux Aeterna simply too good in the Tiara
while Timmy Rictor was the run of the race in the Crown but another victim of the draw
Take a geek at this replay and tell me why there was no formal enquiry into the tactics employed by several drivers...."nothing to see here"
The Crown was certainly crazy early on Dan
Jack Callaghan on Bob Sloy was 3½ wide and Rickie Alchin on Soho Spectre decides he is going 4½ wide around him but Jack decides he is going to boot up
Looking at it again I now see that Soho Spectre was probably the run of the race - 2nd line and worse still a little behind at start, asked to go 4w+ and pushed wider, sits in death
And they're asking this of 2yo's
Somebody else asked me why Timmy Rictor did not follow through and try to hold the leader's back?
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#BHC25032302
Sorry Kev, took my run before stoking the fire there,:),
I was talking about the 1st race,
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#BHC25032309
Hmmm do you think Bernie may have been doing a job on Nathan to help out Brad? It is not every day that you see a horse carving out sub 27 being tackled for the lead by one who has come from the 2nd row. All to no avail as the kid on the winner was reading things beautifully
Hint....look at which horses were going to be 1, 2 and 4 in the running and the possibilty of an easy quarter or two, which might just make the leader's task a bit more comfortable.....I think Bernie may have seen the same move too many times....oops that was too big a hint.;)
Ah huh, I was looking at the wrong team.
The Trotters Oaks and Gp1 Mile at Menangle tonight
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=PC060523
After taking the NSW Oaks first up, Rockinwithattitude is looking to add the Derby on Saturday night
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#PCM13052301
I am always surprised that the NSW marketing department has not stressed to the club the advantage of adding $4 more to Menangle's races so that they have nice sounding $10,000 ring to them
Today I am equally puzzled as to why R2 should only be worth $9,800 while the rest of the card is $9,996
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=ME200623
Why haven't more Vics immigrated for NSW's far superior prizemoney?
They needed their investments to perform but HRNSW's position certainly looks better than Vics and their prizemoney is on the increase!
https://www.harness.org.au/media-roo...?news_id=63330
4 of the 8 winners at Menangle tonight used to be Vic horses
None of them have had ownership changes - just stable and state changes
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...s/?mc=PC200124
Needed a change? Better opportunities? Better prizemoney?
NSW is doing alright
Yesterday they had 3 meetings
In total there were (rounding)
1 $20k race
16 $10k races
8 $7k races
With less than 2 weeks until The Queen Elizabeth mile the Robing Dundee on Saturday night has attracted a strong field
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...24#PCM27042402
Well Ladies In Red is $1.65 for the Queen Elizabeth
I am only going on one run but if Aardies Express had drawn 2, I would have her vying for favouritism
Her 1.48.9 doing it super tough first up for 4mths was simply ridiculous
Saturday night should be a magnificent night's racing
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...24#PCM04052401
