The first of the three pacing heats is headlined by the strange clash of three sets of stablemates. Jess Tubbs' only two pacing runners – Better Eclipse (gate one) and Rakero Rebel (two) – are joined by Shannon Price's pair Sure Thing Captain (four) and Speak The Truth (five).
Two of Victorian trainer Andy Gath's three pacing series runners, Tango Tara (eight) and Catch A Wave (11) – also clash.
Very strange Adam.
But I don't think Jess will mind 1 & 2

So am I & plenty of others as well ...
She is not that happy .
Rules vary across major races and different states, but often there are "stable splits" in feature events.

It was not just Jess either .
Maybe they could do the draws publicly on sky . Chantel , Grant & Luke all got different heats , Chantel 3 horses , Grant 5 & Luke 4 . Other trainers have 2 heats with 3 horses . Shannon has 2 , like Jess in the same heat with 2 horses .

Outside of Leap To Fame and Max Delight the opposition looks to be quite moderate.

Has this horse more credit to get an invite to the RS than Captain Mistress or many of the others , invited into the race ???
He has had 14 starts , for 9-2-4 , $279 thou , gone 1.52.9 at Albion Park. 1 group 1 .
She had had 13 starts , for 7-5-1 , $366 thou , gone 1.53.1 at Albion Park . 2 group 1s .
I wonder if Mick (Boots Properties Racing Pty Ltd) asked WHY she did not get an invite .
I would have if she was mine .
If you look at some of the other horses credentials in the form guide for the RS , you would scratch your head as to how she missed getting an invite.
It seems like year after year , we keep coming up with questions that defy belief .

Check out the RS form guide , for horses that got an invite .
Pity about BOB & WDB being scratched .
Form Analysis by Darren Clayton
RACE ONE
The consolation of The Rising Sun kicks off proceedings where CAPTAINS MISTRESS (1) can chase a bittersweet victory. The most notable admission from the big G1 feature later in the night, she dealt a super victory in the Redcliffe Oaks last time out. With all the options from this gate, she can extend her tremendous record.
Truer words could not be written Darren .
The betting says it all for both the pacers & trotters in the Inter .
As Chris said in his call , shes all class, Captains Mistress , 53.8 last half .
Well done .
1st heat , run of the race Catch A Wave .
2nd heat , run of the race Captains Knock .
CAW must have looked pretty good pre race as I think Brittany said he looked Breath-taking or something just as strong - she was somewhat speechless
3rd heat , run of the race Leap To Fame . Obviously !!!
Nothing will beat him , bar bad luck , in the final. Champion .
So many people put "champion" on horses that are not . But Leap To Fame is a true champion IMO .
Phar Lap was a true champion .
Adam Sanderson's drive on Oscar Bonavena - one of the worst drives ever
Bet n Win , easy as you like .
RS , run of the race The Janitor .
Some were not sure why he was favourite - now they know why
Did you hear B Graham say if a 4yo wins the RS , it gets a run in the Inter Final Kev?
Or was I dreaming.
No, you heard right. I think they said they get an invite and if they accept it becomes a 13 horse final (but a 3yo won the RS)
Plus there are all these bonus points for the Inter heats that mean a horse like Gus who did not win his heat is nevertheless on top of the Trotters table
Crazy IMO. Open to exploitation. Eg London To A Brick is tailed off and knows he is going to run last and get 1pt (guessing here) but he knows that the horse that runs the fastest Last Q and Last Half can get 3/4 bonus points (not sure which) so he goes ever so slowly until the 800 then builds it up and burns home to elevate himself to the equivalent of finishing 5th last and a rough chance of still making the final with a good run in the 2nd round

He is best I have seen & I have seen a lot of very good horses in all my years .

In an exciting twist, Leap To Fame and defending Inter Dominion champion Don Hugo will clash in next Saturday night's second round of heats.
Here is the scoring table. It seems ridiculous that the 3 top rated horses are all in the same heat next weekend (especially when there are only 2 rounds) - making it so much easier for those in the other 2 heats
https://thecreek.com.au/interdominion/scoring-updates/
Certainly little comfort - I believe the ridiculous non selection cost Captains Mistress $145k
