2yo winner at Maryborough , Bettermatch did fulfil Brendans prediction and won the MIA Breeders Plate at Leeton tonight going 1.58.8
Another 2yo at Maryborough tomorrow and it looks an interesting race so tune in at 2.12pm
7.32 Tuesday night at Geelong another 2yo race
(you non-Vics will have to keep us up to date on your states)
Goes along nicely too Richard. Has trialled at Warragul recently - can't remember exactly which trial it was in but you will see them on our link at www.youtube.com/warragulharness
There is another nice two-year-old in the stable too which is a few weeks away...
The first at Maryborough Thursday sees five 2yo first starters going around in a field of 6 - three of them for Peter Manning
The Bettermatch form line held strong today with Brocks Territory (Lombo Mandingo/Hush Hush Lombo) winning in 2:00.8 @ Maryborough.
A couple of nice 2yr old Races at Shepparton on Saturday night, I'll have a crack at the prevew later this evening.
2yr old Colts & Geldings Classic
No 3 Christmas Jolt looks the one to beat in this, No 1 Brocks Territory led and won at Maryborough in 2.00 but No 6 Itz Sportz Torque ran a big race after being in the breeze for most of the way and was only beaten a head. The NSW visitor Regal Nightshade must be respected, Billy Trembath has a habit of winning these early Classic's, Regal Nightshade ran a good race to finish 2nd behind Bettermatch in the Leeton Breeders plate when beaten 7 metres in 1.58.8, No 5 Combined Interest was beaten 18 metres in the same race and should be a lot fitter for the experience. No 4 Soho Lexington won a trial by a big space a few weeks ago and must be considered in the exotic's.
Another heat of the NZ Young Guns today at 4.53 AEDT
Two $15,000 2yo races at Shep on Saturday night and only 6 runners in each race. This season has the smallest crop of 2 year olds that I can remember. Many 2yo races are being scraped due to lack of nominations.
This will only get worse in the next few seasons. Things don't look good for the future.
Harvey would be more than happy to tune in an hour early ;)
Nah, thanks Tony, I am always forgetting whether it is NZ or WA which is 3hrs diff
Will be some very nice two year old going around at Goulburn on Monday. Shane Tritton's two year old trialed going 1.55. Should be interesting.
Christmas Jolt has plenty of ability and with the Manning polish he was too strong (boot polish - tough nugget)
A great debut by the beautifully bred grandson of Mindpower to make him pull out all stops (must be footy boot polish) :D
Frank's boys make it 2/2 with Dancingwithsierra in the fillies
Three more 2yo's making their debut in a field of 7 in the last race at Ballarat on Friday night
http://www.harness.org.au/fields.cfm...omstate=vic#10
There is a two year old in WA that has won all three of his two year old starts ; ideal Tyson ( American Ideal - Shezacullen.)
You would be pretty happy with him Anne. WA would seem to be a bit like us - not too many different starters yet
Tomorrow's Warragul trials feature six 2YO horses including a number from the Jayne Davies stable. Replays of the trials will be on YouTube tomorrow night.
Out of interest here is some info on the horses which will be hitting the track soon. Some nice bred types among them.

Thanks for the heads up Kyle.
Soho Chelsea is also a half bro to tonight's winner at Ballarat - Delight Me who now has the record 6: 5-1-0
Jayne Davies seems to have a number of well bred two year olds in her stable that are starting to trial or getting ready to, so could be going to have a good season, in addition to the ones that Kyle mentioned are trialling today:
OHANA
Christian Cullen filly out of My Sparking Burgundy - full sister to Gotta Go Cullen
DRAGON STRIDE
Four Starzzz Shark filly out of Willing Greek - half sister to Grand Stride

Last of Talk To Me's foals at Bendigo on Wednesday night
Wotchawaitinfor, the last of the foals of Talk to Me, dam of top class mares Mother Courage and Tandias Courage, as well as five other winners, will make its debut in race three, the Hygain Two Year Old at Lord's Raceway this coming Wednesday, February 4.
The Santana Blue Chip gelding , trained at Navarre by Marnie Bibby will start from the outside of the front row of the mobile in the field of 7 2yo pacers.
I spoke to Noel Alexander at the December meeting at Warragul and he said that they had a number of young ones on the way through. We know the good record they have had over the years with juveniles so fingers crossed they can produce the goods with some of these.
The stable had been quiet up until December but we know that a good horse can be just around the corner for a good trainer!
Another most interesting 2yo race at Bendigo tonight
You will want to check out the breeding of the first starters
Dam Atomic Fusion has a perfect copybook
but Talk To Me must have been in consideration for Broodmare of the Yr at some point
Having missed the last season and this foal being born when she was 24, I think we can safely say this is her last
(and a favourite family of yours - Rich and Wayne)
http://www.harness.org.au/fields.cfm...romstate=vic#3
If Atomic Warlord gets up tonight it will bring up a double for Atomic Fusion as The Fat Man just won a heat of the Tontine at Hamilton
Despite being by Santanna Bluechip, Talk To Me's foal Wotchawaitingfor notched up another winner for this super broodmare and paid $9.50 on debut

(at what time does day become night?)
http://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/f...3fd.htm#Race-4
Gold Ace's little bro (full) is debuting in the above race
More 2yo racing in NZ today INCLUDING A TROT (I know that will get some of you excited)
so tune in from 1.40pm AEDT (for the trot)
Amazing that a couple of the 2yo trotters have had so many starts
http://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/r...9rs.htm#Race11
Result of 2yo Trot event. A non tote event not broadcast.
Features are
3yo Trot
2yo Pace. Chase the Dream
All One Mile racing
Kevin officially declares himself a senile old fool
The trot was already over when I posted
I cannot handle time-shifting
We are 2hrs behind NZ that means -2 from their times Kevin!
Chase the Dream 1.54.8
The 'All Stars' team's 3 runners all ran 1.55-
http://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/r...39rs.htm#Race5
1.54.6 by Christmas Jolt winning by 20m at Melton
1.53.9 in a very tough win by Bettermatch at Menangle
http://www.harnesslink.com/Australia...Sapling-Stakes
Bettermatch thanks for coming! $3.80.
Tipping driver S Maguire bit more impressed by that effort than the effort of Baggy Green in the race prior. 1.57 track record at Junee 3 weeks ago and then 1.55.4 personal time last night. On 1.57 run at Junee should be running 1.54 (probably more like 1.53) at Menangle.
Would be a clash and a half between these 2 but advantage Christmas Jolt IMHO due to the different sized tracks, Only early days and I expect Born To Rocknroll to improve a fair bit on last nights run so the Breeders Crown and Vic Bred will be fantastic this season.
