Sunshine Stride (Four Starzzz Shark) won her trial in 1.56.5 at Menangle. The dam, Protikori, won 18 races of 35 and is a half sister to Caribbean Blaster.
The first race at Kilmore tonight may produce a few winners
On his Australian debut The Kiwi Way has won in 1.55.4 in a mere C0 (quick at this Tk where Bitobliss holds the Rec at 1.53.4)
It was the 4yo's 3rd win from only his 7th start
He had a dream run behind the leader so the 2nd and 3rd horses who did a lot of work were impressive (even the 4th horse should add to his solitary win but he did have the 1x1)
The Kiwi Way's dam Kiwi Ingenuity ran 4th in a Miracle Mile

Fides (bred by Trevor), half bro to Our Golden Goddess, is making his debut in the 2yo at Ballarat tonight - R9
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#BAC23031808
Fides won a trial very nicely at Melton last week but is up against Centenario, an Emma Stewart 2yo who won impressively at his first start. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do.
My other 2015 colt, Animal (Art Major - Ima Spicey Lombo), is in the last of the Bathurst Gold Crown heats tomorrow night. He has also been matched against a good colt, the Sapling Stakes winner College Chapel.
Thanks Trevor
Centenario is well related too - being out of a full sister to Philadelphia Man
Your 'Animal' is out of an elite mare while the very impressive College Chapel's dam is a half sis to Make Mine Cullen
Big run first up by Fides Trevor, Looks to have a lot of ability
Paramount Stride a half bro to Our Waikiki Beach (and Bechers Brook) makes his debut at Maryborough tomorrow
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#MHC29031808
Another stride - Typhoon Stride goes around for the 2nd time in the 2yo at Bendigo today
A full sis to Partyon, she started $1.04 at Ouyen about 3 weeks ago when she settled last of 5 and then broke twice in the last lap before making some ground in the home straight
She won't start $1.04 again but I would be amazed if she started $6.50 (who provides these odds for the fields?)
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#BNC12041808
She is no Partyon and she touched $14 at one stage and should have been more - lucky I don't bet :)
Messerati, a 2yo full bro to Messini, has his first start for the Caldows in R1 at Charlton tomorrow - they bred, own, train and drive him
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#CHC16041807
Well he won and he and the 2nd horse were impressive despite both being green and the race resembling dodgem cars

Baby Bling and Bling It On's little brother Bletchley Park went around at Pinjarra today. Took home the winners cheque at his first start
There's one in our girl's 2yo race tonight who is a half to the sensational US exported Sensational Gabby. The 2yo is Major Survivor out of Lite Jewel.
Edit: same race. Back In Twenty is out of Aristocratic Glow which is out of Arctic Glow (dam of Amongst Royalty) who is out of Broncroft Castle dam of Parthenon and Mon Poppy Day. Arma Veyrone is out of Arma Express who won 12 of 18 starts and $280k
Another 2yo going around who last start won in 1.55 and change is Valbonne, closely related to Inters public fav Tanaka Eagle, and Let's Chase The Dream amongst others.
Certainly the season in WA for well bred 2yos.
Another: Bitcoin having its first start Monday at Pinjarra (I see it nommed anyway). Out of Am Opulent who won 18 races $269k. She is of the Impish NZ line.
Same race: Bettor Be Oscar. Out of Copper Beach Girl who won 14 and $156k
Flaming Flutter's full sister Two Times Bettor won her first start in the 2yo at Bendigo tonight
http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...ic#BNC26041808
Restrepo's sister goes around tomorrow race 4 Pinjarra - Innocent Affair
Should be very interesting Jim, Some real nicely bred horses in the 2yr old race
I can see some genuine positives in WA harness racing . Good racing at a true Metro venue , some nice horses coming through and excellent prizemoney . Also their breeding industry is moving forward with their own APG Sale and Studs starting up and investing in Stallions and well bred mares/ fillies. Their appears to be confidence in the industry with investment in long term breeding ventures and the purchase of top NZ racehorses.
Our Waikiki Beach's little brother Bechers Brook won with a leg in the air tonight at Northam
Very similar win by Ride High, who made it 2/2 3yo starts when winning by nearly 30m untouched at Melton last night
He is the half bro to Rocknroll Magic

https://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/...51rs.htm#Race1
The on debut winner of race 1 may fit this category you think...!!!
Hell yes, 1/2 brother of Lazarus and looks to have plenty of ability Tony
I think only in Australia would you see a Bettors Delight filly from a Rocknroll Hanover half sister to Well Said making her debut in a 2yo trotters race! Emerald Stride at Menangle on Saturday night.
Actually hadn't checked today's fields and she made her debut today with a nice win!
Coca Vicola is the dam of the favourite in the last at Horsham today Our Bare Knuckle. Coca is a half sister to millionaires Adore Me and Have Faith In Me.
Our Bare Knuckle's NZ sire Raging Bull is not on the HRA database yet - I thought they were added once any progeny raced in Oz
The horse to follow from the race is the winner Goodtime Heaven - she looks VERY good and she has family cred too as her dam Bella Joy has already produced Supersonic Miss and the warhorse Jukebox Music
Check Our Bare Knuckle's pedigree by searching it on the HRA horse search function. Raging Bull (not to be confused with the Knight stable's good horse from the 80's) is by Christian Cullen from a US-bred Artsplace mare. Was a pretty good horse but only had 10 starts.
A cousin of mine paid good dollars for Cola Vicola's yearling this year.
Good investment imho Showgrounds, I’ve looked at Cola several times when looking at that family, My Kiwi friends tell me Raging Bull was extra smart and if you look a bit closer, RB comes from the same maternal family as the Mighty Albatross
Kev Raging Bull comes up in Classic Families
LOL, I am not a newb Trev - of course i knew I could find out all about him on the excellent HRNZ. I now realize that HRA will list all his Oz starters (NZers like Bare Knuckles included) IF he has a single 'Australian Bred' to get him on the board for openers
https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/...eId&Arg=162168
ps Rich - you guys must realize these sites are on my Toolbar lol
Hahahaha only playing Kev
I found time to have a much closer look at Raging Bull NZ. He has not produced any quicker than Our Bare Knuckles but Raging Bull certainly had some credentials to try him as a sire
As Trev mentioned he only had 10 starts - two at 2yo, six at 3yo, two at 4yo. He won 5 and came second in the other 5. He came 2nd to Smolda three times and at his last start he finished 2nd to Christen Me
Rich, Classic Families reveals his dam San Sophia USA, is a half sister to Champion mare Galleria - US 3yo filly of the yr in 98 and US Mare of the yr in 99
We will have to wait a while to see if Raging Bull is to catch on as next yrs crop is tiny but he could have a dozen starters in each of the following 2 seasons
Raging Bull is a chance to be offered in Aus this season.
He sired an impressive filly named Pamplona Princess that placed 2nd in a trial at Chertsey in NZ in early Jan. Mile Rate: 1-56.6 Last 800m: 55.7 Last 400m: 26.7
She might have put RG on the map however passed with colic soon after.

Lombo Pocket Watch had his first juvenile winner for a while when Rollecks won the 2yo at Shep tonight
LPW has an Ok siring record with 45 winners from 80 starters from 191 foals. More impressive when you consider that all the winners come from his first 3 crops of 128 foals
Rollecks' dam Jane Cullen is a half sis to Inter winner Jofess
New Penrith Tk Rec holder with his 12th win from 13 starts, 3yo Ignatius has an impressive dam in Ashkalini but the reason he rates a mention in this thread is the fact that Ashkalini is a half sis to the great Beautide
Making his debut in the 3yo at Cobram today is Heaven In Locksley, a half bro to Ideal Tyson
