TrotsVision is starting to put the complete package together for Metro meets
I notice the injection of some pre-recorded tips by Jason Bonnington tonight
To have non-stop something to watch or listen to is not far away (vision only is ok for some spots)
The country Saturday nights probably only need a pre-race interview and they have the full content
Enjoying the Melton coverage again today
A little bit disappointing that they can't quite get their technology right
Rob's microphone is clear except for some of the interviews, the interviewee is clear but Rob all of sudden sounds like he is in a tunnel - it almost sounds like we are hearing him via the interviewee's microphone not his own. As soon as the interview is over he is clear again so I suspect it is how Rob holds the mic or positions himself
I cannot believe I forgot about the early start
Does anybody else find Rob's audio when doing interviews annoying?
I can't believe that Trots Vision has so much trouble getting their audio right
Gareth and Adam in the studio 'echoed' for R1 (and we could hear their mumbling during Dan's call) then they sounded better for R2 BUT we had NO CALL from Dan
Positive - we have got Rob's audio for interviews spot on
Adam knows they have no race audio in the studio BUT does anybody know that that is 2 races with no race audio for the public!
Well after having Adam and Gareth giving a running commentary in place of a call for R4, we finally got it right for R5
Partnering up with Sky has proved a debacle but at least it has been a dress rehearsal for next week
Holy Cow, now the lights have gone out on track
Gareth has said Ride High has focused eyes on harness racing BUT unfortunately
I started on Trots Vision and when there were issues, switched to SkyActive. The issues were the same on both. Don't know whose responsibility it was, but is was extremely poor from a viewer's perspective. Surely they have technicians who monitor the feed - it was disgraceful listening to Adam and Gareth's comments during the race and their discussions with their tech guys. And worst of all was listening to them rustling their papers while eating!
They were great at tweeting all night but obviously did not read the responses to their tweets which gave direct feedback on the poor quality of the broadcast. Either give us back the straight Trots Vision next week or get your act together guys!
In frustration (and while trying to cook a BBQ) I emailed Cody. Who told me they aware of the problem but we had another race of fumbling and mumbling after that before they at least did a running commentary for R4
Last night was a job very well done by everyone. They got the balance right by making more use of Rob and Dan 👍
One reservation - can we get rid of the 'fancy' super close up (so close it is out of focus) approaching the Bell. It does nothing and we missed seeing why Catch A Moment in R3 needed to go 4w
Excellent coverage again tonight
Only qualification would be the barrier draws.
I'll say it again - HRV get some large balls and have a display board for JB to man instead of talking so much
They continue to improve the product
An excellent move to replay the races after the winning interview
This stream is so much better than Sky for out and out harness fans
Lucky we have Trots Vision as Sky2 deserted us for the last 3 semis
Trots Vision showed the sky2 coverage and in my opinion it was not as good as the normal coverage.
Yes, it was the same but there was no Sky2 coverage for the last 3 semis so TV was appreciated by this fan
We have tried something new in the back straight for the first lap
PLEASE PLEASE STOP IT NOW - it looks like rubbish compared to normal vision
Hopefully never again will we have so many changes of camera angle - making it hard to follow what was happening. Keep it simple - whatever gives us the best view of what is happening
Tonight I played around with the Chromecast (not really knowing what I was doing) and found that I could 'cast' Vision from my computer to the TV with my Google TV turned on (my source of Netflix) because my TV is not a smart TV. I was only able to cast from my computer (not my phone or tablet) because having Vision up on my computer at the end of the address you have those 3dots to click on which let you control google chrome and one of the options is Cast. Anyway it looked very good on the big screen
Wouldn't it be good if they could get it put on the subscription services (Netflix, Binge,Stan), that would make life easy. If you just want to see the race it is a bit of a pain to switch from normal tv to Trots Vision.

Over 5 years ago I sent that email to HRNSW! Post 2 in the thread.
Failed similarly a couple of years ago. I put in an order for Afterpay shares at a fixed price before going out for the day, they never came down to my price (only 2c difference) so there was no purchase and when they jumped the next day I decided I would wait for them to come down - they didn't . I calculated the other day that not simply putting in my order for market price (a measly 2c more) cost me $600,000 on today's APT price
(mind you, thank to Covid, they dropped to $8 and are now $114 - and I still missed the boat)
No Trots Vision of Horsham today?????
Everybody is there and you can watch it on Sky/TAB
And yet the Trots Vision webpage has a 1700+ min countdown until R1 at Melton
STRANGE!
Fixed for R2 but no explanation or apology for what happened for R1
I was surprised to see it was only Cody and Nikita with Lachie for APG finals night
They did an excellent job and there was no reason why I should have been surprised I guess

This should be good although I like the pace of just Rob and Dan and the fact that the program allowed Rob to do some fantastic interviews last Friday
I am a fan of Milesy so we will see how it goes
Oops it is a day meet so I will miss it - someone let me know how it works
They're supposedly going all out on TrotsVision tonight but I can't say I am sold so far
They have added Ben Krahe for market moves and tips but it has cut into Dan Mielicki's time (why pay someone else)
And JB feels the need to engage in too much matey banter with guests like Ben
It is not funny how we get so many sports presenters nowadays (footy players are classic egs) who think they are comedians, we old zealots might blame it on Jack Dyer and Lou Richards having everybody think they can be funny
If you want a comedian you hire a Mick Molloy ...
We have to get JB to share the mic better as he does not want to be like the footy commentators that you get so sick of that you watch without sound
Rob Auber can sometimes be a bit wordy with his questions but overall is a total contrast to JB
Sofia Arvidsson did a good job on having the first movie quote thrust upon her
Greg Sugars did a very good job (despite wanting to laugh) at his movie quote but you cannot help but think "what the hell are we doing" Probably not helped by the fact that neither JB or Nikita mentioned the sponsor or the quiz and what contestants need to do
The later crosses to Ben were interesting as he was given time to explain how pros punt
Maybe we should keep Ben and give Dan the job of looking at each runner instead of, or with, Jason and Nikita - Dan is otherwise being somewhat wasted
It may just be me that thinks JB could share it around a bit (my mother would never watch Bert Newton lol)
I wonder whether TrotsVision will be covering both Kilmore and Mildura on Friday night
It will be a real smorgasbord if they are - 22 races in a bit over 5hrs
Trots enthusiasts have got it SO GOOD with TrotsVision
Take Bendigo tonight, nothing but the one meeting covered in intricate detail
The gallops don't even get it this good - the closest would be when Ch7 cover a feature meet but they have ads
If people want to immerse themselves in a sport it doesn't get much better than this
Bendigo tonight
The lead up to R1 - it is interesting to hear JB saying we won't have time to go through all the runners as we have to create a dynamic broadcast.
They seem to manage it at the gallops
ps Then they spent heaps of time going through all the runners anyway so it meant nothing other than to hint at their intentions
This certainly must have been a throw away line by JB as in the lead up to the Gp3 trot they spent forever talking about the 150/1 pops
They really need to get Jason Bonnington some media training, he is forever inappropriately commenting on people's clothing and appearances
