One stable has 5/7 runners (was 6/8)
Seems ridiculous
Derby day at Maryborough tomorrow/today
Strangely the Fields are not showing any scratchings (at midnight as I write this) but the Form Guide is showing 3 scratched including the favoured Wilmas Mate
https://www.harness.org.au/fields.cf...romstate=vic#8
This is a bad mistake in the form guide
Still showing 1,9,10,13 Scratched

I will assume the fields and TAB to be correct and the only scratching is the Em 12
Great to see Illawong Byron win the Redwood and keep some money in Australia (especially after Mark Purdon cut the corner)
I looked back in his dam line and could not see where the ability may trace to (obviously Muscle Mass who sired the quinella has something to do with it LOL)
- then I noticed an old favourite Just Money (1962) in the family A139. This is one of the horses responsible for my love of harness - he won a heap of races when I was a teenage punter (50c)
Made me think - maybe Maori's Idol being the sire of Illawong Byron's grandam has something to do with his ability for we all know that Maori's is really by Bank Note and of course you can guess who was the sire of the beautifully named Just Money
Not much else to see in A139 except for a handy little horse called Flashing Red who won a couple of MILLION
ILLAWONG BYRON
There's more to Illawong Byron than meets the eye.
Firstly: Maoris Idol. Then Medoro, a beautuifully bred iport from Italy, and the Legendary 1920's trotter Grand Voyage are there. ..through the Goulburn Valley sire Golden Medoro.
Then theres the SJs Photo dam: http://www.classicfamilies.net/CF/Cl...rseID=10017335
and the sire Muscle Mass, world record 2T ½mile track T1:53.4 US in 2007.

No fluke !
I do not think I was saying it was a fluke Noel.
I mentioned Muscle Mass, highlighted Maori's Idol and could have mentioned all the sires in her pedigree
but looking at his dam line noted the scarcity of stars and chose to ponder the possible Bank Note connection
I wonder how many pedigrees of very good trotters are unable to be corrected due to the Bank Note/Ike Frost uncertaintly.
Looks like Just Money was one of the first crop of Bank Note ( season 1962-63). There are 25 foals listed. Little Interest was our of the same crop. Two very well named horses!!
Hopefully HRA will be true to their word Noel and investigate it further in a couple of years when advances in DNA testing will have occurred
The first 3 trots races on Crown day have not been good advertisements for the gait with Dan's call in R3 "that a couple of them have made mistakes" needing correcting to ' a couple of them did not make mistakes'. At least the first two were good battles and maybe the 3yoC&Gs in R9 can show good manners
