It was an issue all over the course - new infrastructure not working properly. Very annoying ..............

Lucky we have Sky for Elitloppet - as usual audio problems with TrotsVision - no call.
It would be interesting to retrace this thread and see how many times this has been the case (and I only watch TrotsVision a fraction of the time)
I wonder whether we have stuck with the same audio man or keep having to sack them
Hallelujah we have sound (Go Luke)
Why do Monte riders look so uncomfortable compared to gallops jockeys?
Luke is doing a simply amazing job, calling horses that he doesn't regularly call and adjusting to the km sectional system
I am a fan of Shannon O'Sullivan but I think as a presenter she could talk a little slower, at present she is so fast that for a deaf coot, like me, her words tend to run together. I think everybody would agree that she talks very fast
It is so nice to have Ryan Phelan in charge tonight, along with Darren Carroll (and Dan of course) - their enunciation is perfect and so professional
I like Shannon but her enunciation could do with a bit of training - just slowing down may be all she needs to do
Ryan has no doubt had training, I wonder whether Jason ever has? He is all over our airwaves and yet I somehow doubt it
Not everybody needs it, Darren is an example tonight and Rob and Steve are good.
You would hope that they all have someone review them and mentor them
Wakey Wakey Boys - you have forgotten to put up the replay for R3 at Shep tonight

The old 'audio issues' again at Melton - maybe they should consider Closed Captions as a back-up :D
I just tuned in for R3 the 2yo at Shep. The mobile is rolling and still no sound/caller, finally just seconds from release Rob Auber joins us and thinks he has time to do a quick summary of the runners (yes - we do want that But it should have happened a minute or two ago), consequently he is still doing this after the field has been released instead of calling what is happening and a bit is happening.
Why can't we expect the caller to come on a couple of minutes before the race?

WTF. Rob and Dan are talking about Catch A Wave and Captain Ravishing's work between races at Geelong last night in the lead up to The Eureka
It was an extensive conversation and they mention that something did not appear right with CaptR at the end of his 2100m and Greg Sugars did not push him out for the last 400m
They showed us all of CAW's 2100 and then all of CR's UNTIL we get to the topical 600m mark AND we cut to a parade ring interview = Stupidity or Censorship (was the Captain that bad?!)
Is TrotsVision doing extended coverage of the $1m meeting at Bendigo tonight - maybe even on the Sky special (Thoroughbred Central) channel?
With all the promotion of Wednesday's 1200m meeting, unbelievable as it might seem - this meeting seems to have been neglected.
Why can't we coordinate on track interviews with TrotsVision interviews - I cannot understand why one interviewer cannot do both (There is a saving ;))
Ryan hosting TrotsVision tonight so I am guessing no budget cuts there (yet) although settling for less would be false economy as he brings another level of professionalism which we need to attract viewers (if we were to get TrotsVision onto a platform that the general public might see/use)
Ryan would want to kill someone
Just as he says "these pictures we are seeing at the moment" - AND the picture goes!
Just as he says "fortunately we still have audio" - AND the audio goes!
It is comic stuff but it might be getting to him - he just said Menangle
He crosses to Dan and Dan is not there
They have the track (steward?) video and they are doing a radio show according to Ryan
Brilliant fields at Shep tonight and although not expecting extended coverage, can't we at least have the caller come online before the last second. Take R2, it started 1½ mins after official start time but still the caller did not utter a peep until 1 min after official start time - we must not be paying them enough
12 Group 1's tonight
Ryan Phelan an obvious for MC host and Brittany on track
Then Kirsten in the yard and No.2 on the desk with plenty of crosses to Dan in the Sky
I think they have got the balance right
Aaron Dunn has his own business and probably doesn't need a buck
He drives and trains his own horses and no doubt loves it but if he let somebody else drive for him, I think he would win a lot more races
What a win by Susan Is Her Name

Be sure to have a look if you missed it
Did anybody go? I am interested to know whether the Scotch Notch cafe was open for the public or was it used for a private function?
Glad I didn't end up going then as that is where I go
I have watched R3 & R4 from Cranbourne but there has been no sound (and yet the Replay for R3 is up with sound)
Anybody else watching and found the same?
No racecalls all day it would seem (fine on Sky)
I wonder what was amiss or weren't they aware of the problem
Does this tell us something about how many people are watching TrotsVision on Sunday (possibly no HRV people unless it was something beyond their control)
I wonder whether we are supposed to have sound yet on TrotsVision
We have pics and it is only 5 minutes till R1 start time
Please Audio team - don't stuff up
I thought we had a problem and I think they HAD to cross to Brittany just now as Ryan just dropped out
Yes, it was once again an audio problem as Brittany is only (supposed to be) on Sky
Watching Gareth Hall doing the parade ring interviews - hard to believe it could pass OH&S guidelines
I just don't get it !!!!!!!
Big day at Maryborough - Rob Auber is MC
Of course there are presentations and interviews on the stage
WHY WHY WHY are they not heard on TrotsVision
I say 'heard' because while the Vision hosts continue commentating we are 'seeing' footage of the presentations - GIVE US THE AUDIO
Another TrotsVision stuff up for R1 at Cranbourne today
The coverage did not begin until there was only 400m to go
This is not unusual for TrotsVision - I have a mind boggling idea for the Technicians:
How about testing that everything is up and running at least 5 minutes before start time
Seriously, they just about never begin the telecast until right on start time so when things are amiss, they do not have any leeway to get it right
(even when they finally come on the sound was dreadful - if only I could get paid for every time the TrotsVision sound is off)
There seems to be an broadcast/internet problem at Cranbourne as well as Maryborough as I had to go to the reliable TAB stream for R3 as TrotsVision was breaking up (only on TrotsVision)
With the super professional Ryan, occasional crosses to Dan, it is easy to see why TV has gone with Brittany, Bronte and Kirsten. It always amazes me how they never seem to stumble, always presenting and questioning so superbly
I LOVE TrotsVision but I am wondering whether it is making us any money?
We are now last on the codes ladder and as the other two do not have their own vision, I am wondering what it is doing for us?
Our creatives (assuming we have some) have to figure out how to make it a money spinner (O/S?)
We definitely needed a 3rd banana on the desk for the coverage tonight
Too much Steve Cleve, even too much Rob Auber
ps Not sure why they didn't show the Pony Trots!
Watching TrotsVision tonight while we still have the full Saturday night version (and NO Stevey tonight ;))
It is such a shame that something we have which is better than anybody else's has to go
It is somewhat streamlined with just Ryan, Kirsten and Dan tonight - but they make a perfect line up and all you need
Streamlined is how it should be for as long as possible as the rumour is that it will become race broadcasts only
SO how can it be that:
"Brett Carroll and David Miles will be part of Saturday night’s TrotsVision coverage"
Unless one of them is doing the out and about interviews and the other compering - I am sorry boys but we cannot afford you
I didn't watch last night but I see that Milesy WAS doing the out and about interviews!
Who was MC?
We have got the Victorian harness horse awards being announced between races tonight at Melton tonight
I know I am hearing impaired but whoever is reading the nominees seems to have a frog in his throat and along with some music kicking in when they announce the winner - the audio becomes impossible to decipher
It was no better on course
I know I can be too negative but it is no good having the best intentions but failing in execution
Kevin, I love Trots Vision also and think it's presented with reasonable professionalism.
Ryan Phelan is far and away the best of all at HRV Media, it would be great if he presented every Saturday night program but I guess that's not possible.
I'm a big fan of Tim O'Connor, a very nice guy from my experience. The cost of production should be covered in part (if not all) by HRA in my opinion, it's worth keeping.
I am not sure when I last watched Saturday night TrotsVision - there has been Queensland to watch and I don't watch when Stevie is on
But I am thinking that tonight might be the first night where it EXISTS NO MORE
Just like midweek, just the racecaller and not until the mobile is about to be released and that is it :(
It is getting harder and harder to convince oneself that Vic isn't the 4th ranked harness state nowadays
