While Catch A Wave seemed so so to me but I have not seen the sectionals
(Results are always slow to go up on HRNZ)
I am only watching race video but I could not see much of a crowd there

KZ amazing filly, they just need to look after her & she will give them heaps of joy.
CAW easy run in front & BE beat him for 2nd. Merlin very good from the death.
I don't follow NZ but only 1.58 for 1980m on a fast track sounds like CAW should have found more

Bettors Delight sired the winners of all three big races
Our best horse was a Bettors Delight Kev , and if he didn't break down he would have been even more special. He is now doing dressage .
I saw a race from Ashburton while having lunch in the pub today - it looks like the sort of track that punters are entitled to = 1500m and all get a chance
We went to Ashburton when we went over for the NZ cup a few years ago . Yes everyone gets a chance on that track.Quote:

1st is $450k, 2nd is $150k, 3rd $100k
For most people $150k is nothing to be sneezed at
So do you drive LTF to give him the best possible run (and guarantee $150k) and let the race/rest of the field worry about DH - after all there is no guarantee that DH will be totally on-song on the night either
Unlike the rest of the field, even if LTF is not on-song he still runs a place IMO
Of course the other way to look at is - if LTF puts DH to the sword, LTF will still run a place so the risk is worth the reward
Good thinking Kev , if he put the sword to DH , one can only hope or he might sit back & hope as you say others take care of the race. God knows. Like most it would be good if it was not boring like some races lately.
All the others will probley wait for LTF to put the sword to DH . If they all wait for each other , good night.

The Vics fill all the places in The Trot but it was not a great advertisement for the code when 3 of the 8 best trotters in the hemisphere make mistakes

It must be cheaper to take a horse to and from NZ than I thought, I would not think a race worth less than $40kAu to the winner would be worth it for a one off
