A Gp 1 day at Auckland today with the first of the big ones at 12.37 our time
The 'magic man' Maurice Mckendry on The Orange Agent had every Tom, Dick and Harry push out under him
The well named filly Democrat Party took 1.5 sec off the NZ 3yo Rec for 2200m when winning the Alabar Sire's Stakes final (not sure what she took off the MR as NZ records listed by race time)

I think the royally bred Have Faith In Me broke the 3yo C&G's Rec for 2200m when winning the PGG final (which despite the $200k on offer is only a Listed race) but will have to await results
ps HRNZ are pretty slow at getting the results up - it is an hr since start time for that race and the results are still not up
Finally Up - HFIM took about a sec of the C&G Rec but this is still .5 sec slower than DP's new Fillies Rec

You are correct that national records are recorded against gross race time. Mile rates as mathematical equations do not constitute records and in fact are of no value as such. Such records are set in mile races. If it was important to you, you could simply calculate the mile rate against the previous record time.

It is a listed race despite its stake due to the fact it is not open to all comers but only to those sold at the PGG yearling sales. Along with this all the sales races as closed entry do not count toward stakes earnings for the respective JEWELS races.

Democrat Party is from a terrific family Kev, They are just Jumping out of the ground, Over here recently we've seen Party Boy and Guiliana Rancic showing a lot of promise and in NZ The Boys GNP won its very first start recently in 1.57.9 over 2400m at Ashburton. Full marks must go to Zac Butcher for a fantastic drive to put the filly right in the race. Maurie Mc had a hell of a time being pushed around on The Orange Agent and then she run off on the corner and ruined any hope of winning.
[QUOTE=teecee;39473] We must be funny over here Tony because we like to compare runs and love someone else to do the work for us ;)
It makes it easy to tell how much faster the 1800m record is than say the 2150m record etc
The magic was missing
ps You sound  today Tony
o sorry thought I was being helpful. blood sugar must be crap. maybe 2015 will be better. I hope so. it's nearly here.
btw... what happened to 2014. one moment it's coming...now it's gone.

Anyone know if there is an issue with Katy Perry? Looks a shadow of the filly that was here in August.
