I saw that in Gumdrops progeny list Anne, you are certainly giving Poster Boy every chance

He is the first foal of Bettor Be Supreme, a 1:55.6 winner of 12 earning $130,000. She is a full sister to Supreme Dominator (2021 Cranbourne Cup) and former champion NZ filly Spanish Armada 1:52.1, 14 wins, 4 placings from 19 2 & 3 year old starts, including 6 Gp 1's (NZ Oaks, Harness Jewels, Nevele R, NZ Sire at 2 and 3, Caduceus Club Young Guns 2yo. 2 Gp 2's and $788,000.
The dam of that three is a full sister to Georgia Brooke, dam of their full brother-in-blood Bollinger, who I'd rate second only to Akuta as the best 3yo colt in NZ this year.
With blood like that the Howlett family should be richly rewarded for their patience with Bettor Be Supreme.
Amazing Dream's half bro Power Up notched up his second win (from 8 starts) in the 3yo at Shep tonight

Our Millionaire (winner of 3 cups now) has a dam who is bred in the deep purple and is brilliantly named Rarefied Air
The reason for this is that she is from the broodmare gem Rich N Elegant who's progeny you can see below
Those earnings figures are in US dollars so in Aussie dollars we have 4 millionaires (a HRA search actually lists Red River Hanover as having earnt almost $1.4m US)
I chopped off the Sires column below in order to fit it in but Rarefied Air is a full sis or ¾ sis to all the millionaires
Sadly Rarefied Air has been a VERY difficult mare to get into foal
Rich N Elegant's foals compliments of ClassicFamilies

The first 3 races today at the prestigious Redwood Carnival , have been won my descendents of the amazing Maori Miss.
Race 1 a 2yo. Suga Daddy a descendent of Rick Burchells Maoris Dream. Rick's use of the great Canadian sire Balanced Image and his son Earl have yielded this 2y'o as well as close relatives with the Calder moniker..
Race 2 Aldebaran Stiles from Sundonna by the champion French sire Love You
Race 3 Aroah Koe, from the Inter Dominion winner Sumthingaboutmaori
Any more?
3yo Wheres The Gold who made it 2/2 for the Stewart stable since coming over from NZ
His dam Gold Elite is certainly that - being a full sister to Millionaire and 5 time Gp1 winner The Gold Ace

Champagne Delight who won 2 races later is from a half sister to Lazarus
2yo trotter Blitzthemchubb makes his debut in 20 minutes at Melton - you can guess who he is a half bro to

She must be a troublesome mare for them as the above was her only start as a 3yo and today she won R3 at Horsham so lets hope she has more than one 4yo start, unlike her 2yo & 3yo seasons
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#HSC26022304
Yesluv off the pole in R2 at Horsham today is a 4yo ½ bro to Pinny Tiger
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#HSC13032311
Reviewing Melton, I just noticed that the Gath's new one in the last from NZ is a ½ bro to Spirit Of St Louis !
The broodmare is proving to be a gem but of course as she belongs to this family:

Alex Ashwood has purchased a nice one from NZ going on tonight's Shep win
She is bound to make a nice broodmare too
Major Fire is a 5yo who did not race as a juvenile and only had 18 starts in NZ
The dam (a ½ sister to Sparks A Flyin) has been a consistent producer and Classic Families shows an impressive family for this Art Major mare

https://classicfamilies.dev/descendants/BLKLT10001577
Sparks Under Fire is her dam (amazingly not by Courage Under Fire)
Southland pacer trained by a small-time trainer. That's where bargains can be found.
Debuting in the 2yo Maiden at Shep tomorrow night we have a ½ sis to Boncel Benjamin and a ½ bro to Bondi Lockdown
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#SPC02052306
Ride High's ½ bro High Above debuted in the listed George Croxford Tribute for 3yo's today and made a mistake early when he could not go with them from the pole but have a look at how much ground he made in the home straight when Q4 was run in 27.5
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#COC11052307
The probem is keeping this broodmare's talented progeny on the track
Kimble's ½ sister won on debut in the 3yo Maiden at Hamilton today
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#HMC15052306
It is surprising that the stable did not have a better read on her, I don't think she will be starting $9.50 again anytime soon - even if she went to town
Well, we will soon see as the Craven stable have put her straight into a metro 3yo - R2 at Melton on Saturday night
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#MXM20052305
Blew out to $14 Fixed for anybody who got on
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#MXM20052305
Interesting to hear Matty Craven say she surprised him at Hamilton
2 wins in under a week certainly rewards the owners patience
Second start today and 3yo High Above starts at $1.06 and runs 1.53.0 winning by 38m at Bendigo
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#BNC04062306
No doubt Peter Wharton or somebody has written this up before but I just realized how VERY closely related
Queen Elida and Ultimate Stride are - the two mares who have run the quinella 3 times in the last 7 weeks
Are they ¾ sisters?
Same sire (Love You)
Ultimate Stride's dam is a full sister to Queen Elida's 2nd dam
The real Girl From Ipanema died on Monday. This is the clip to watch (oldies only?)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1uEy-n4IsU
The harness 'Girl From Ipanema' still lives on through her great granddaughters Tay Tay and Struve
Turn the Page was a first-up winner at Pinjarra this afternoon. She hadn't even trialled in the West but started $1.02 favourite. Ridiculous! Despite being attacked mercilessly in front she was far too good.
Her two race starts in NZ were pretty good, but not $1.02 good! By the booming young stallion Vincent, her dam is a full-sister to the great Monkee King.
A bit of a sad story, the filly's dam had been retired from breeding and rehomed as a hack. When Turn The Page started to look the goods enquiries were made to get her mum back to be bred again this coming Spring. Unfortunately, the mare was lost in the North Island floods in the early Autumn.
Wow, thanks for the inside story Trev
Yes I see 'Hack' after her name
https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/...rSite&Arg=TRUE
Alabar must have too many horses to give up on a youngish mare of her breeding who had 3 on the ground, by good sires, yet to race
Today's winner

3yo first starter Ubetta Knot, in R3 at Geelong tonight, is beautifully bred
She is a half sis to Konan
Remember Konan? He didn't race as a 2yo either and then as an early 3yo, won 5 races in a row, including a Tk Rec 1.52 at Bendigo in his third start
His 3yo season was the end of his glory days, he had one 4yo start for Stewart/Tonkin before being tried by a series of trainers.
His last start was as a 6yo in SA was over a year ago
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#GEC28062311
He looked pretty green and gangly but 3yoG Celebrity Royal won his first start rating 1.53.1 at Bendigo tonight
Mum Our Celebrity was pretty handy, winning 12 from 29 along with 10 placings
It is all in the breeding as they are both descended from gem Larrakeyah Lady
Spare a thought for Good Day - you don't expect to rate 1.53.2 in a 3yo Maiden and get beat
https://www.harness.org.au/racing/fi...23#BNC12072306
In the 2yo Trot at Bendigo tonight, No.'s 2, 3 & 5 all on debut - have six $100k siblings between them
