Smolda, 1.5 secs of Restrepo's track record.
Monbet smashed the Melton trotters 2760m SS record in winning the Australasian Trotting Championship in a 1.59.6 MR
Being off 20m is the MR calculated on his time or the front line? I am thinking the front line or else it would be possible for non winners to hold the Track Record.
The record was probably due for a hit as Skyvalley set it back in 2009
Off 20 metres and slow off the mark.
Didn't know there had been none at all but thats exactly my point that they aren't racing pacers over that distance. What a surprise Hunter Cup hasn't been won by an Aussie at Melton (excluding Kerryns training effort with a horse coming off a NZ Cup campaign).
Thanks Paul, that makes sense as it would be silly to credit a handicapped horse with a Track Record of 'x' when he really rated 'y'. I suppose I/we should also let go of the Track Record having to belong to a winner as it is probably just as silly to say horse A holds the record when horse B has gone faster. I suppose the problem is expressing records in MR's - if expressed in time (I think NZ do this) then a non winner cannot hold the record
Cold Major breaks Trigger's track record taking it down to 1:50.8 then Keystone Del destroys his own track record by around 1.2 secs.
Add Smolda now, 1.1 secs off.
Super times tonight at Melton (I hope they didn't move the pegs in a few metres )
That Our Waikiki Beach goes OK
Vinny Chase's 1.53.9 for 1710 at Ballarat last night was not far off Saab Quality's 1.53.7 Tk Rec
Congratulations Paul (Toohard), Anything For Love's 1.55.7 in the first at Echuca tonight took 1.5 secs off the Tk Record (and he is only a 3yo)
Also Rob Auber's tip at $7.80 (The Russian at $1.40 another one of those ridiculous odds on pops)

Good stuff Paul
Hadn't realized that Glenferrie Typhoon's 1:54.4 in the Aldebaran Park Maori Mile at Bendigo last Saturday night was the new Australian record for trotters over the mile.
Sundons Gift 1.54.3
I think the 1.54.4 was an Australian record on the a track 1,000 metres or less, Flying Isa ran 1.53.2 winning at Menangle on the 4 March 2014 so that would be regarded as the 'all track' Australian record. In hindsight, I would have thought that there should be just the one Australian record rather than distinguishing records by circumferences of tracks.
Supersonic Miss went within ˝sec of Hall Of Famer's recent Tk Rec at Bendigo tonight winning a C3-4 by 24m in 1.52.6

And she did it untouched!
The Bendigo track has been sensational...even better since 60 tonnes of material was spread ( with a farm super-spreader) just before the Bendigo Cup. It has a very good cushion.
Ideal Success, first start in Australia for Kerryn Manning, broke the track record at Horsham last Thursday. Rated 1.54.4 and won by 24.6metres
Thanks Robert missed that one. Amazing when you consider that that was the first meet on the brand new track - new sprint lane, new camber, new surface.
I just had a look at it too. IMPRESSIVE
He might not have placed in his previous 10 starts in NZ but have a look at who he was racing against! (And he did win 9 of 10 if you go back further)

Have Faith In Me and Smolda booth break Menangle track records
The Bendigo track record over 1609 for trotters was broken last night in the second race by Keayang Yankee, which led all the way and recorded 1:55.4
That only lasted for three races, as Quite a Moment took .1 off that in the fifth race recording 1:55.3
I guess they running mile races for the Need for Speed trotters series but hoofnote Glenferrie Typhoon sub 1.55 last month at Bendigo over 1650.
Unusual in these days of ever improving times to see a Gp1 Cup run in a MR of 2.01.5 a whole 5 secs outside the Tk Rec MR

Ex Hall horse, Some Kinda Tactics broke the Port Pirie track record for the mile in winning the Kadina Pacing Cup last Friday night. He took 0.6sec off the previous record.
Just watching the replay

Amazed at how much of the last 600m Im Corzin Terror raced roughly and how many yards it cost him and yet he was only beaten 1.5m
It was the other American's turn tonight with Brett Miller driving a double which included Ace Duigan at odds of 19/1 taking a whole second off the Echuca 2160m Tk Record when he rated 1.57.2
The Culture once again showed what a speed machine he is - taking 0.7 off the Ballarat 1710m Tk Rec previously held by Saab Quality when he rated 1.53.0 tonight
(This MR is also faster than the 1609m record held by Smoken Up and Abettorpunt)
He has only been racing a year and tonight was only his 16th start. Three starts ago he rated 1.51.6 at Melton. He is still assessed as M0

Beautide broke the 2,300m track record at Menangle yesterday.
We are lucky to have a West Aussie to cover for our NSW reporters :D
Thanks Rob
Oh Jonny B Goode, driven by Amanda Turnbull went within 1/10th of a second in equalling the 1720m mobile start record of 1:56:0 at Young tonight.
In his heat of the Southern Star, Keystone Del SMASHED his own Melton 1720m Tk Rec when he rated 1.53.7 (probably to his detriment later - although it was this heat's death seater that won the final)
