If you would like to know a certain result just ask as i wrote most of them down. I havn't got time to write them all down at the moment as i'm going to sit on the heater and try and thaw out, it was freezing.
The sbsw yearlings please mango.
Kept For Pleasure $110k
Trudee $20k passed in
Thanks mango. Apart from the kept for pleasure colt were there any other 'wow, prices for lots?
mango , on the Kept For Pleasure colt was there spirited bidding or just a couple of starting high bids that shut others out?
Was there some sort of confirmation problem with the Trudee colt?
No other wow price's, there was 2 that were passed in though that i really liked, Jereme's Jet - Socialize colt was a nice strong looking colt and was passed in for $20k and not sure of the reserve and the other a filly by Mach Three - Indigenous she was a really nice filly with a beautifull walk she was passed in for $33k and her reserve was $35k.
Thanks for the update mango. Did you secure any stock for yourself today , or just an observer?
i believe the Postmark filly sold for 40K and the African dancer was a buyback at 41k, with a 45K reserve
Hey Ozninja
Mango doesn't need any more stock i have 3 mare's going to stud and 2 fillies going to the Sydney sale and the way fillies sell i could be taking them home and racing them. By the way i watched the stallion parade and my pick was Sportswriter what a well put together stallion he is.
Hello Mango,
If you have a minute these 2 are related to my mares.
Lot 5 Kathian Princess
Lot 29 As It Is In Heaven
Regards,
LOC
Hi Mightymo
You are correct and the Postmark filly went to Fitzy's in Sydney, i was also talking to Tim Butt today who is over here looking at Menangle and various set up's and also asked him about there recent purchase from the states Lisagain. Lisagain who is a half brother to Lismara by Dragon Again is currently in Auckland and will head to Christchurch on Tuesday where he will begin work in the aim of some nice race's towards the end of the year.
Hi Love Of Courage
I have Lot 5 down for $1,000 and Lot 29 passed in for $9.5k and he was a nice colt.
Absolutely awful sale, vendors will be slashing their wrists after those results
90% of them weren't genuine bids, including the top price lot
Can't believe eliteblood couldn't sell his, I thought the best type in the sale and the indigenous filly was best filly
Hey Mango - so how high really is Rocknroll Heaven?
Anyone know who shelled out $110k for the top colt? how much for scoots away?
SBSW -Kept For Pleasure was a buy back.
Thanks triple. Wonder why they put him through. Surely they wont do any better than $110k. I rememberr when sloys bought back a colt for $87.5k a couple of years back. He turned out to be brick top... Won 60k to the end of his 3yo season.
If they put this bloke through the gold sales a few potential purchasers might be scared off at the prospect that he isn't for sale.
Thanks mango. That makes sense.
Do you think he is smaller than that, I should have said....
Hi guys, any chance you have the price on Lot 14 and a bit of a description please, unfortunately couldn't make it there today as I didn't want to risk divorce by giving in to any desires for another horse :)
Any chance of getting the full results of the day?
[VVV] G'day Gtrain. To be fair, it happens to some degree at all sales from time to time. That's the nature of the promotions beast and none of them can claim to be immune. I've long had a yearning for days past when you could do any form business with some blokes on the basis of a handshake and both parties stood by it. Graeme's certainly one of those blokes, Old School. His handshake is as good as a written contract. We've done business with him on that basis in the past & will no doubt do so again in the future. In my experience the APG are the same and George Aiken/Parramatta Livestock was the same. It's a very tough business that they're in/were in and none of them can/could afford to dick around anyone who was a genuine client be they buyer or seller. Sales are sometimes like doing the Form before having a Bet. The balance of probabilities are...or whatever. For example, I wrote down in my catalogue here about 3 weeks ago that the SBSW colt would in all likelyhood be a buy back/partner buy out. Unless someone from outside went insane I didn't think it would ever leave the owners/part owners hands.
It doesn't happen as often here but especially at mixed sales there are regular partner buy out/buy backs in the US.
i didnt think it was a particularly well run sale, when its 10 degrees tops with a gale blowing its not a good idea to have an hour break between a stallion parade and passing in the first 10 lots of the day
wasn't exactly happy with them taking 250 bids on horses that were 5k away from their reserve price either
Seems like you haven't much concept of auctioneering the go is to get as much for the client as possible and if the buyer only want's to bid 250 then that's what you take he wont bid a 1000 as he is trying to get a product for as cheap as possible
