I know it is 3½ months away but if a horse who has had 4 starts is a possible contender, you would think there is a lack of depth in our 3yo and 4yo ranks

The Lost Storm will be improved by the run but Yambukian was far more impressive

Extreme Sea??
Super dooper high speed Trish, and given the amount of racing he HASN"T (i.e. core fitness) done displays a air bit of bottom so far. As he gets down closer to the big end of town it will be interesting to see how far he can go and I for one think he is about an 80% chance of getting into the top rung.
We tend to say they all have speed these days but I'm sure ES can sub 12 second quarters and only a small number of horses have ever threatened to do that.
Extreme Sea........so sorry for connections.
Huge run Never Ending. Even put in a couple of rough ones on the turn.
Well done Justin Prentice & team.

By winning The Hayden, Free Thinker secured Racing Queensland’s slot in the world’s richest harness race at Menangle on September 7.
Does the slot holder profit if their slot wins?
If so, I thnk it would be annoying for Free Thinker's owner Kevin Seymour as he has his own slot which he would have used for Free Thinker (and would not have to share any prizemoney)

It seems crazy that Captain Hammerhead is still being asked to earn a slot after destroying The Lost Storm on Saturday night - The Storm is becalmed and should be scratched from the Eureka

Rod is not going to be happy
There are 4 emergencies
OH NO!!!!!
Poor Jess & Greg.
Hope FC pulls through.

Wisper A Secret picked for Taz.
I wonder whether a smart cookie knew a scratching was on the cards as I noticed yesterday when I posted the above market that Wisper despite being (supposed) EM2 had shortened from his opening quote
Hi Kev you could be excused for thinking that but no I expected it. There should be one stipulation with Eastern border horses entering WA major races: they will automatically draw the outside barrier. Sadly Harness Racing WA (or whatever they call themselves these days) wouldn't have the "intestinal fortitude".
Rod you commented on his wide barrier last start, even though it was a preferential barrier draw.
This race is also preferential. Also was a public draw too, with the available barriers randomly selected by hand by the connections. Can't be much fairer than that.
Don't worry Patrick, Rod knows all that - his response to me was mostly tongue in cheek :D
Apart from the $2m of the Eureka, there is $700k on offer in the other races

6 months ago Sure Thing Captain was a $34 pop when he finished 7th in the Chariots - should he be $4.60 for The Eureka? (Opened $3.80!)
Can High Above win with a lowly rating of 77?
Well that race was boring.
Extremely - you would hope for a lot more for your $2 million
Luke and Kerryn were smart but as a race it was pretty boring.
3yo Bay of Biscay seemed to be the only horse to make any ground in the home straight
A couple of others may have appeared to but I think it was more a case of Sure Thing Captain going backwards

Maybe they are all too evenly matched and it comes down to whoever takes up a handy position
The same could be said about the Len Smith - nobody improving their position that much (one horse fading again)
I just watched the replay again & it was even more boring.
Luke made it his race by the sectionals he ran, once he easily found the front the race was over. If Pete kicked up ( but he didn't ), it could have made some sort of race of it , maybe.
Every other driver handed the race to Luke on a silver platter.
Good on him but what a waste of $2 million bucks.
It wasn't a race at all.
True dat
