Sickest bit is I knew exactly how good it was but a computer malfunction before the race cost me BIG time. $22!!! Has set the track alight in trials!!
Makes you feel a bit sick huh? Have done that more times than I would like to admit. It's a long way to go until the end of the season but she is still pretty green and was not extended today. There was no reason to of course...however she was travelling so well, if the driver had given her a pluck or two inside of the final 16th I think she breaks the Oz 2yo fillies record. Went to the line with plenty in the tank.
Probably doesn't make you feel any better but my brother got the tip for Highview Tommy, straight from Hazel, and the horse duly knocked over Smoken Up & Sushi. Here in NSW they bet as much as 120/1 fixed odds. We didn't have a zac on it. :(
Hi guys, was a terrific win, that is for sure... The mail is there might be one better in the stable at home!!! I know it is oft said but if true, scary!!!!
The way she cleared out at the end of the mile really impressed me Fred. I've seen plenty of 2yos go quick early and walk to the line but not many finish it off like she did. When they lead up all the way like that and they're doing their best work at the wire...they're the real deal. She gave me the impression she could have kept going and punched out a solid 2300m. Not bad first up eh? What a way to start a career.
Yeah came home as she went out..... Like her alot Jaimie.. Trots TV has an interview with her trainer
I watched that race and the winner was impressive. Once her gait is perfected she will fly!
Nice filly, looks to have a future!
Looks like nobody knew what Just A Bit Sassy could do going by the price,i have heard the old story "there is a better one at home" a lot of times in all codes and they rarely come to light with the same old story "oh it broke down"
I reckon there has to be a pretty good story somewhere there that has led to the production of that filly.
If you take a look at her damline, the surname of the fella that owns her/bred and the fella who trained & drove her (both Sullivan) it is directly associated with it right back to 1961 & initially through a fella by the name of James Sullivan from Leeton. That filly is the result of 50+ years of that family breeding from the same maternal line. Good for them. Great stuff.

Far from the truth. I know of around half a dozen blokes who were on her. To win plenty also. I tipped it to anyone that would listen. Thats why I am astounded at the price. Cannot understand how it held up.
Where was it backed Lithuania ??? not on the tote or betfair and certainly not on course if they won plenty(is plenty in 100s or Ks) they must have cleaned out the corporates then and i havent heard any of them complaining which they do when they get stung by a first up plonk and i was with one the other night and nothing said.

Thats what i call a well deserved win good on them hope it keeps on winning and gets to GC.

Nah there wasnt much available on the fair. As per usual. Some of the blokes dipped into $13 fixed early and were happy enough with that. Others took middle tote with the corporates. Ringman your not the only human with a brain. I realise that money in tote pools = shorter price. Money with corporates=shorter price. But for some unbeknown reason=, this time the corporate money hasnt seem to filter back into the pools. Thats the part that I cannot understand.
There just mustn't have been as much money on as you think GTrain???
Very surprised that there hasn't been a 2yo yet go under 55.
Hello Robert,If you're talking about this season, none under 55 yet, but i'm pretty sure that Gamechanger went 54.7,happy to be corrected if i'm wrong
That's correct boys Gamechanger went 1.54.7 as 2yo, that included breaking gear (carrying strap) and breaking stride for a couple of metres. If we could only get him right this season he will go a hell of a lot faster than that..... Fingers crossed!
Ouch. My eyes begin to water just thinking about it. We had one gelded a year or two back by a lady Vet. Good sort too. She knocked him over with a sedative & had both of them out and tossed to the dogs in minutes. I bet her boyfriend behaves himself. ;)
We didn't have much choice... Had some major issues with his inguinal rings! Female vet did the procedure with him as well!
Back on the subject of Records...every single Australian Mile Record is now held at Menangle and 8 of the 9 Australasian Mile Records are held at Menangle, the only hold out being Smiling Shard's 2yo colts mark of 1:53.7 which was taken at Ashburton, May 30th 2009.
This was just a total wreck as far as I can recall. https://imagicon.info/cat/10-3/smile4.png
Have a good day Don
