Whoa, this is BIG, talk about a cover up
Burying horses on the sly along with asbestos is an eensy bit suss. Should have been more than 6mths. Maybe Daryl's shift was timely.
This is disgusting, six months only for all those charges, to bury a horse not at your own property and then to fill it with asbestos, looks like someone is trying to cover up a positive swab. Hope the RSPCA gets hold of this story, they should get at least two years and a fine, and the vet you should be ashamed of yourself....
Still cant believe they only got six months, if any other trainer or owner did this bang two years straight away, still protected
That's a pretty damning story, who in there right mind would trust any of them again?
The whole story is bloody disgusting IMO.
After all that Harness racing has provided them and you Eric Anderson-Bloody Shameful
SHOULD BE LIFE, simple as that.
Wont be surprised if the Herald Sun pick up this story again. They ran with it when it first emerged several months ago. They must have known something even way back then. This is bloody nose for harness racing! A statement must be made in punishing these two!

Good that he is going to appeal - maybe they can quadruple it to 2yrs min
All the horses from Stable are scratched on Saturday so no stay it seems.
Must admit i am surprised thought this stable was honest
This whole thing is discussing, they should have been given life.
Nathan, I will be hoping HRV are successful on April 9 and they get years. As for successfully gaining a stay - I hope the stewards to test every runner they have in between time
It appears that NSW is far harsher with penalties (unless you appear in their advertising promotion that appears before most replays on trotstv.com). The fact that the two did what they did and lied on a number of occassions has to make you think there is more than meets the eye. I have always liked the Douglas camp but 6 months is a disgrace to the industry. If they would have conducted a post mortem and found the cause they may have been up for 20 years. I know on speculation but if you try so hard to conceal the truth surely you have something to hide. By the way I love Adam Brand!!!
In my mind, the fact the Course Vet was involved and was also part of the cover up to stewards really gives this a "stink" about it.
What would entice a Vet to do that?
The outright lies to officials!!!!!!!!!!
The penalty should have years in it not months
V-Cat or V-SPLAT, why should these two get a stay? Everyone can see what is going to happen this will just get pushed aside and these two disgusting people will be free to train horses again, How about HRV grow some big ones and put there foot down and give them what any other trainer or stablehand would get if they did this, TWO YEARS at least. Tappy,Hayes etc on In THE GIG you blokes need to put this story out more so everyone can hear what they did. I feel sorry for the horse, he never wanted to be buried with asbestos.......sick sick sick PEOPLE
wtf given a stay. how is this possible? this rad board is a disgrace. the hole rad board should be stood down. sick
The Hrv want a heftier suspension for these two individuals. It was the the Rad who imposed the insufficient suspension. I understand HRV are appealing the leniancy. Anyone can correct me if i'm wrong.
That's correct leigh
At last some common sense into the argument rather than blaming Anderson and HRV for everything.
For clarification.

this link was on RSN lastweek it may answer a few reasons why the stay was granted.
Any chance of a summary David as I am a deaf old bugger?
basiciallly JA wanted them to appeal so that the stewards will be asking to try increase the sentance as JA said they have the ryt of appeal as do the stewards if the douglass team dosnt appeal to vcat the hrv would be appealing the sentance if u can listen to it its quite interesting.
I dont think its a strange coincidence but i know what you mean
This topic has gone very very quite??? You watch these two get off in the two weeks time
Hope your wrong Jax, From what JA said in the interview, Their both looking at 15 months. This would seem more realistic and it will be very interesting because a lot of people are watching this one intensely.
And yet it has pretty much stayed out of the Melbourne newspapers especially compared to how The Age were all over the Cobalt story
I bet it doesnt hit the papers at all, HRV will cover it up
How much you want on that bet?
