One can only assume Cramp appealed his 10 day suspension incurred at the meeting at Mildura last Friday - as he drove again today.
And copped a suspension in the first race - plus an adjourned inquiry into the run of the $1.60 fav - beaten 72 metres.
Anyone have thoughts after watching the replay?

I just started this thread to give him a clean slate so to speak
For starters there is no way known that that horse should have been that short
Opting for 2 back the fence early and not coming out when the running line was taking shape does not look great but he could probably argue that in a 6 horse race he knew he would always get a run
As for what happened next - he is probably going to plead guilty to being cute again, as the speed went on in the 3rd Q he knew he was in trouble and he thought he could save himself going wide and come up under the horse in front of him - not like that he couldn't.
Has been suspended again for the drive but I doubt the inquiry will result in anything else
[Later won 4 in a row to bank some money for the spell]
Could be a big night for the stable. Craig Rail has tipped SJC to train the first 5 winners and 6 overall plus 2 seconds on the 8 race program at Mildura tonight.
Not Wrong Kev, I know it's a huge call but I wouldn't be surprised if SJC trained the program there sooner or later.
SJC won the first 4 but then the next 4 favs got beaten - 3 of them his plus the Jack's Tezz Khora
SJC is almost as hot as Shane Tritton. Trot tips tonight has 6 rated as odds on, and 2 other favourites. Only runners in 8 of the 10 so can't train the card.
Reading harness.org.au, notice SJC just got eight weeks for a losing drive
Yep it was the drive I summarized in Post 3 of the thread - I wonder why the suspension does not start until July 6 - pretty bloody lucky in that respect as this means he gets another Mildura meeting on July 4 and the big Melton meeting on July 5
Of course, thanks Jay
Chris Waller in Sydney today 4 winners including a quinella, a trifecta and a first four. Puts Cramp to shame!
Really tough to compare these 2 trainers Breno, GW does have a massive team and his clientele would expect these type of results and SJC does really dominate his home track with similar results regularly. Way to hard to compare.
Kev I think drivers now get the option to delay a suspension for up to 10 days if they have pre-existing commitments or are booked for feature race drives. Given he had runners in vicbred semis/finals that would be the most likely reason he's still driving.
Thanks TC and NJC, I knew some of those details and thought he would have had no problems getting a postponement until after the semi's but did not realize they could get a delay of up to 10 days
Racing at the Cramping-ground again today. Craig Rail only picks SJC to win 6 and come second in the other 2.
Hope Craig's right in Race 4 Kev!!
From the Sunraysia Daily during the week...
Angry Cramp slams system
VICTORIA’S leading harness-racing trainer, Shayne Cramp, yesterday accused stewards of unfairly targeting him and bowing to pressure from rival trainers.
The South Mildura reinsman has been slapped with his third driving ban in the past 16 months, and said it was a “disgrace” he was hit with the maximum penalty of eight weeks after stewards found him guilty of denying his horse, Philtra Phella, the opportunity to win in a race at Mildura on June 13.
“I get scrutinised much more now because I am the main man up here, and I think I’m being unfairly treated,” he told Sunraysia Daily at the Birdwoodton stables yesterday.
Cramp, who has won more than $640,000 in prizemoney with 121 winners this season, accused stewards of bowing to pressure from rival trainers and drivers over the “greater focus” put on his driving.
The 30-year-old said sources inside the stewards’ office had told both he and his foreman, father Greg, that “they have been getting calls from other trainer-drivers up here about me for the past three years”.
“They are hitting me in the hip pocket,” a frustrated Cramp said.
He said the latest eight-week suspension could cost him up to $12,000.
“I’ve been driving at least four winners a week on average, so that’s at least $1500 a week it’d cost me,” he said.
“I am still trying to recover the loss of income from the six-month ban I copped last year.
“With this latest one, stewards are saying that there are two areas I am culpable in, and that I carried the weight of public money as the well-supported favourite, which was actually a false favourite given the horse hadn’t won in its 10 starts.
“Part of their determination was made because I had been previously charged under this same rule twice in the last 16 months.
“But what they are not actually saying is that in a 15-year driving career, before those two charges, I’d had only one breach of this rule before then.
“So, in effect, it was three in 15 years, which sounds a lot different than two in 16 months.

Big smile!!! Thanks very much guys, It's very timely and congrats to Intransit's new owners. Glad to see the drivers and horses are okay after the crash and a big thumbs up to the outrider catching the loose horse up the home straight.
5 Winners out of 8 for SJC (plus a Quinella and a Trifecta)
It would nevertheless be a hard stable for a punter to follow. If you had put $100 to win on their most favoured runner in each race (and they sent out 6 of the 8 favs and had 2nd fav in the other 2), I calculate you would only have ended up about $100 ahead even on a massive day like today. Mind you, one of their winners was not their stable elect but they did win one of the races where they did not have the fav
He is listed to drive at Swan hill Thursday night thought he was out.
Supposed to have started on the July 6 - must have appealed the 8wks
SJC is the state's leading trainer with 128 winners, 82 seconds and 51 thirds BUT that is only prizemoney of $676,321. He of course is making much more than his 10% cut of this (plus driving of course) thanks to training fees but most of his owners would have to be struggling to break even and this is with the state's leading trainer
Of course he struggles for Metro class winners with only 3 of his being in the city. I commend all our owners for putting on the show for us
If that was the suspension he got when he was driving a false fav cute (the stuff Gavin Lang can pull off) then I am not overly surprised he got off
Kev hasnt posted tonight, you feeling alright mate?
Five from five so far - a bit of history might eventuate tonight I think...
Six from Six and he should win the next as well!!
