Jackpots seem to send the pro punters into overdrive (it has to be them)
R6 at Kilmore tonight saw the $3 fav beaten into 3rd by a $76 pop and a $54 pop
We had a part jackpot in the First Four
There had been <$5k in the pool and $3,514 jackpotted
What happens in R7 - we see a First Four pool of $22,489 UNBELIEVABLE/CRAZY really

Where Ya Bin $90.70 at Ballarat tonight

Catchy names at good odds, not form, were pretty much the order of the night
My neighbour should have backed Best Back Bruce $39
A Nip Will Do would have appealed to many $26
Jay Bee for all their workers and those with such initials $7
How could you not be attracted to Tipsy Turvy $20
Royal Charlotte for a few named so $10
and Our Cheeky Devil would jump out at many a parent or grandparent $9

The results have got the price wrong Noel but that is an interesting one
Hargreaves/Ashwood runners that win do not normally pay $53
I saw his previous run at Stawell and it was a so-so 3rd

That race is worth having a look at. The fav was pretty much a cert beaten by the 'unusual' drive by Mal Diebert on the horse that finished last - unusual in that the horse was checked and lost several lengths and instead of looking for a breather Mal took off and stole the lead (putting the fav 3 back on the fence and doomed when Mal's horse inevitably died). Meanwhile Alex Ashwood had driven a masterful race first of all getting his horse from the 12 spot to midfield on the fence then off the fence when Mal's was checked and then he took the opportunity to stitch up the fav by going to the lead down the back when he knew that Mal's leader had to die

I am a little surprised that the stewards did not question Mal's drive - he clearly believes his horse is champion
