It is hard to understand why the Final is on the Friday not the Saturday as is the usual
(Vic school holidays start the Saturday - it may have helped recruit a few holiday-makers)
This year the cup is named in honour of past president Barry Bottoms
For several years Tasco Petroleum has been a magnificent sponsor of the cup
Previously the final was for a very attractive $50k or $60k but it is back to $25k this year.

Field is down to 7 and I am surprised that with $20k on offer, comparable to Melton nowadays, they only got one trotter rated higher than 70
