    Wangaratta Cup

Just looked up and last time travelled up to Wangaratta trots was 29 years ago. Went up last night as had a horse in.

One of the tracks closed but re-opened for their cup meeting each year. Cup on last night and big crowd there. The crowd is right against the track and terrific atmosphere. Even 2 very busy bookmakers! I stood on the hill looking up the straight for the cup. Packed stand and crowd and heaps of noise. Certainly brought back memories.

There's no dining behind glass or any such modern facilities. The track very tight so you won't see 1.50 being broken. But if you want to experience (or be reminded of) what going to the trots used to be like, mark it in your diary and head there next year.

Well done to the club and all those responsible for putting the meeting on. Great night.

Great report Paul. Any time we get a big crowd to a harness meeting has to help the future of the sport

Heard some good reports on the meeting also from someone who went along. Crowd was down on previous years apparently but there was a lot on in the district over the weekend and still an attendance figure that many of the "bigger" Cup's would do anything for!
