A fantastic program of 8 Crown semi's and a Gp3 FFA for graduate mares
Great to see the club making a fuss of owners

Hit the road early as the action start at 5.30

(Not sure what the inferior R10 is about - greed?)

Back to Bendigo, fror the Breeders Crown Semis with the promise of seeing outstanding young horses racing, and the top trainers and drivers competing, on a very fast , well cushioned track.
Don't forget to drop into the ever growing history and memorabilia collection downstairs, next to Garrards.

    In the Beginning
The series was started in 1998 with the
Bendigo Harness Racing Club hosting it for the first seven years.

The results of the first, the 1998 Breeders Crown (for Two Year Olds)

    Race Horse Trainer Driver
Two Year Old colts and geldings Flubber Peter Walsh Ricky Thurlow
Two Year Old Fillies Lombo Adreamin Noel Alexander Chris Alford
Two Year Old Trotters Tammy Rama Gary Quinlan Ted Demmler

And while you are at Lord's Raceway Bendigo on Saturday night for the Breeders Crown Semis
Check out the extensive collection of memorabilia in the BHRC History and Memorabilia Collection on the ground floor of the grandstand.

Michael Howard, HRV Journalist has produced a great four minute feature highlighting many of the items in the collection, and it can be seen here:

    Bendigo Doing Something Right

Good feedback Kev for Bendigo. Eleven races tonight !
Terrific sponsors, great caterer and warm and close to the action in the Raceview Function area.
Two new TAB terminals and friendly staff..all make for a good experience for patrons.
The Website (BHRC.com.au) , Facebook Page and Twitter are all used frequently, and have a growing number of followers.

Plus it is FRIDAY FRENZY (Latrobe) Uni Night tonight, organized by some of our young members and patrons as well as staff.
Free entry, racebook and well priced drinks from the bar, as well as a free bus to #Hashtag night spot after the last.

    Check out the Facebook link:https://www.facebook.com/bendigo.harness/

    But the racing..
11 races 30 minutes apart ..the track has a lot to do with it. Trainers can be confident of a well cushioned fast track. The top drivers and trainers come and race and leave with a sound horse.

The staff at Bendigo HRC, committee and volunteers are having a real crack at making it a great night out for everyone.

There are some very well related first starters going around tonight but I would not be surprised if the cleverly named Pantzup has the biggest following

Five Vicbred Platinum heats for the 3yo's tonight, each worth $10k.
Should be good racing (a pity Dragontown was scratched from the last heat)

Could this series perhaps be altered for horses older than four who have earned under a certain amount?

If you ran in the Vicbred Super Series and went well you might then back up for the Crown then a spell.

Or if you missed the Vicbred final you can go onto the consolations.

If you keep going to the Crown it is a long time to keep one up.

Connections of five or six-year-old or older Vicbred horses with limited ability and earning potential would love a crack at this good money among "like" horses

'Harness racing teams up against ovarian and gynaecological cancers'

Noel has let me know that this is the first time for years that the trots have been on the front page of the Bendigo Advertiser - thanks to Keiran Iles and Noni Hyett
