Why is Vic having all these race free Mondays?

From a selfish point of view, I miss it when there is not daily racing. I might only spend a few minutes on harness some days but it a routine that I like.

What is it achieving for the industry?
Drivers and Trainers can take any and as many days off that they like - they should not need us to compel them to
Most of the time the industry seems to be all about turnover - race free days = no turnover

But if it is a savings measure, then surely having No racing is the end result

But maybe it is just Mondays that don't make any money and we cannot get any coverage on Monday night because that is Dog night - maybe all day meetings run at a loss?
