This makes the olympic badminton look simply angelic!!

I really don't care if I am just sounding like a nark anymore but fair dinkum, how can Glen McElhinneys effort on Miss Livia in the first at Penrith tonight be described as anything more than sub sub par. Drawn gate three, I had no doubt she would be pushed forward, her biggest dangers in the one and four. But nuh! Whoa girl, we'll try to win from 2nd last. Well, we would, but little did I realise Glen thought he was driving IMTQ in theInter final. Surprise, surprise apparently she wasn't capable of such a powerful sprint over such a short distance!

Maybe if he had had a look at her replay two starts back when she led on her ear from gate five and held all at bay, may have helped.

I am sure the fact that Miss Livia drifting alarmingly in the betting had nothing to do with the effort. Can't wait to read the same old, same old in the stewards report.

Same old, same old...if I was a shonky realtor up Qld way and needed to offload some mangroves, but needed to present it is a prime coastal investment, Mr McE would definitely be my go to man. Hook, line and sinker...case closed.

I thought my eyes were deceiving me in race three when Josh Willicks horse galloped in the score up. At the time I thought "hes trying to knock this other horse over so a false start is declared". Sure enough, false start and his horse got the fly on the re-run (didn't help it tho). The stewards didn't miss that one and smacked him $500 for his effort. He got charged for improper driving. Surely time on the sidelines is warranted for such unsportsmanlike conduct. Sometimes I just plain cannot understand how the stewards arrive at their determinations. And how would the connections of Leecully have felt if their horse was injured because of this type of stunt?

The explanation as given by the driver for the tactics used in the early part of this race are bordering on a joke.

Firstly G Mac did not drive the mare at Bankstown at its most recent start there when it allegedly choked down, I use that term because it is not mentioned in the stewards report that the horse either pulled hard or choked down.

Secondly he did drive it at Penrith from gate 5 two starts ago on July 19th and was more than happy to drive it off the arm to lead, in a lead time of 7.3 which was quicker then the lead time on Thursday night. For the record it won this night. Not worried about choking down this time apparently

So lets check out G Mac's other recent drive on this mare on an 800m track July 5 the from the four on the second row Penrith....driven forward to make sure it was one off the fence in front of the three drawn to his inside on the second row that night. mmmm not worried about choking down that night either.

Both these starts I hasten to add are after the alleged unreported Bankstown choke down.

I am not sure about Miss Livia choking down...... but I am bloody sure I am as I try to swallow this crap as an acceptable explanation.

The least the stewards should have done was to adjourn to view the replays of its previous runs just as I have done tonight and then said ok G Mac whats the difference in this race.

By the by G Mac has won two races on this mare back in 2009 funny that it led both times .. must not have choked down then either.

The stewards in NSW have twice before suspended drivers for tying to rort false starts for two loses at appeal maybe they have just decided a small win is better than a loss.
