Tonight at Ballarat will be Mufasa Metro's 41st start since coming from NZ
Subtract the 3 starts where he was off a handicap
In the other 38 starts he has Drawn No.1 a total of 9 times
That is about 24% of the possible times

You're almost compelled to follow the trotters nowadays.
Two meets and 17 races in Vic today
8 trots, 9 pacing
and No, there was no Maryborough meeting

Luckily we have trots vision to fall back on as getting trots races away on time seems to be a real problem (no doubt they are being shafted to Sky2)
The Wedderburn Trotters Cup at Maryborough yesterday took several attempts (the tapes may have been a contributing factor)
The 1st leg of the Quaddie at Melton today (a 3yo+ Maiden Trot for a leg of the Quaddie!) didn't get away until the 4th attempt
Dan might get in trouble for saying "to the cheers of the 11 people on track"

It is an all trotting program at Melton on Saturday night but at least we have 4 good pacing races at Geelong on Friday night

Strangely TAB not showing Fluctuations but the current odds for the Grand Prix rematch are:
Just Believe $1.50
Callmethebreeze $2.90
I know which one is more attractive

Well it may be that Callmethebreeze will only be a threat to Just Believe over the mile
Arcee Phoenix is the heir apparent over any trip - 3yrs younger and with only 31 starts under his belt (CS has always planned long term with him)
Callmethebreeze is 2½yrs younger and I may be being hasty as he has won over a trip O/S (and some suggestion he choked down tonight)

In the post race interview you could see how relieved Greg was to have won as he knew he had got out of gaol after allowing himself to be pocketed on the fence

I think the Goudie family would be tickled pink at the recent form of Chief Runningcloud
The now 9yo was bred by Peter Goudie
After being most inconsistent for the last 4yrs the Chief has had 5 wins and 4 seconds from 12 starts in the last 5mths for David Waite

Nutrien Finals night at Melton has proved a big one for Volstead with him siring the winners of 3 of the 4 races!
How was it that he only sired one foal in 2022?

Wow a 100m handicap and only over 2150m - that is something you don't see every day!
I wish Trevor was still with us as he would remember if he knew of a bigger handicap

Tune in tomorrow night - such handicaps create interest
