Hey Rob no matter what anyone says, being there on track at GP when the big races are on is a great experience indeed.Of course the experts tell you that the track is too small nowdays and thats probably true but it is what it is,but its just brilliant to be there and enjoy the atmoshpere and spectacle.I made the 500km roundtrip on Friday to watch the first set of heats and will be doing the same today and this Friday as well.It bugs me that every year I read on a few of these forums people saying its one of the weekest InterDoms ever.Even when Blacks A Fake won his lot, lots of people will try to tell you how weak it was.I havent missed an InterDom since Elsu won in Auckland and I think each InterDom was very special indeed. The horses that turn up to them are the ones that the connections believe can win it.Then of course you get the knockers of the local horses but I think they're a bit narrow minded in their assesment sometimes.I think that most of them performed pretty good in the first set of heats and I will be interested to see if they can continue. The drive on Sneaken Down Under has been criticized and maybe it looked a little ambitious but without debating it further I dont think either Washakie or Auckland Reactor would have run past him had he led.Crombie went well as did Dasher and Can return Fire,so I dont think it was an effort from horses that shouldn't be there because they as weak as what some people are trying say.
Anyway in saying that I think Lavros Conquest should go close in the first race and Zanardi eachway in race 5.
Cheers
