Here's one for you Kev - the trots on free to air TV. Reckon they could resurrect this for a modern audience?


I found this on a tape today, from the first episode of The Saturday Night Show which only lasted seven weeks from Jan 26, 1980. It took over from Penthouse Club which was axed the previous year. I had to cut the live performance by Barry Crocker but you aren't missing much!


Also contains some classic footage as the crowd make their way home after the meeting.

Couldn't help but compare the whip action of the winner (Frank Hoban) with a Gary Hall Jnr victory salute...those days of judicious whip use are long gone.
