How is entry for the Derby and Oaks decided?
We have 39 entries for the Oaks spread across 4 heats
While there are only 2 Derby hts with a couple of horses named emergencies

So how do they work the qualifying for the Derby (first 5?) and Oaks (first 2 and next 2 fastest?)

Haven't watched the replays as yet but watching on track it seems the two Derby heat winners should definitely be fighting out the finish of the final. The Oaks may be a little more open with the barrier draw playing a part but to my eye Fight For Glory was the best performer in front of Delight Me.
