Mark Purdon must like the family as Smolda is from it as well.

The 1st at Kilmore today (not until 2.45) sees 5 new 2yo's in a field of 9
And there are some very good 'Strides' amongst them
Genuine Stride - a Four Starzzz Shark half bro to Excel Stride,
Dragon Stride - a Four Starzzz Shark half bro to Grand Stride
and $120k purchase - Supreme Stride whose dam was the very good filly Morgan Abby (half sis to one of last season's star 2yo's Its Only Rocknroll)

Lots of interest in that race Kev, Hopefully Soho Lexington can put it all together, Very impressive in his first run at Shepparton but still a bit green and can do a lot wrong, Fingers crossed they've ironed out a few kinks in his make up and it certainly should be a great contest.
This afternoon at 4.06 and 5.06 AEDT we have 2 more heats of the Young Guns in NZ (It is the Northern Oaks meet - 7.05pm)

And on Sunday at 2.13 there is the Gp3 Leonard Memorial (Between the Ladyship and Derby at Menangle)

The breeding record of the dam of todays Ballarat 2yo winner Celebrity Guest seems most unusual
Celebrity Ball was a decent 2yo herself winning 3 races including a Breeders Crown heat and came 5th in the Gp1 Gold Tiara final WHILE IN FOAL
for she had her first foal that year
then she returned to racing back in foal and won a Breeders Crown heat as a 3yo too - the foal she was carrying however is listed as deceased

Her dam is Larrakeyah Lady and it would seem her owners wanted a racehorse but could not wait for her to be a broodmare
