Great stuff James didn't know it was happening, great way to increase exposure of both codes!
Hi all,
I participated in my first dual code race meeting yesterday which was a load of fun
(BEAUDESERT TURF CLUB)
My 2 boys really struggled in the long deep grass as both of them sat in the breeze in their respective races
& just couldnt go on with it.
IMHO the overall concept is a good one,but sadly the harness fraterity have to "bend" to the make it happen.
ie - track prep & time slots, but hey that's the way it is.
On a positive it really suprised me how interested everyone was in the trots
& how approachable the gallop people were.
all in all & fantastic day & a good concept

for sure Danno..whilst I realise the dual code concept has been around for a while now it is still something to look at a little more seriously I reakon..sadly we are so far behind the gallops IMHO
Reading the history of the gallopers disdain for harness, it surprises me that the gallopers now entertain the concept. To me it would be similar to the AFL giving soccer a leg up by allowing them to put on the curtain raiser (esp 10yrs ago)
Greg Sugars was a Champion harness racing person
spin off from the PR thread : it is disappointing, but not surprising, that there is not one piece of "PR" released about the day anywhere that I can find...pretty much sums it up
I did see that one Breno...i was more talking about post race
