Where does the prize money come from for such an ordinary bunch?
Heartbreak City (2nd place Melbourne Cup) two of last three were over the hurdles.

Just no staying talent in Australia.

The only Aust bred Melb Cup horse was by a sprinter out of a dam by a sprinting sire.

There is definitely a lack of staying talent in Oz but as far as UK hurdlers go, they are not looked down upon like they are here because it is a very serious season over there contested by quality horses

Darren Weir had runners in 7 races at Kyneton today. He won 5 including the Cup and finished second and third with his other 2

and another jumper Breno. Their jumpers are in a different class to ours and our stayers seem to be non existent. Lloyd just won another staying event with the Wattyl Paints horse - not only do it look the same but it also had not had a start since the Wattyl Paints horse last ran!

G Lang has indicated he will stick with Team Stewart who have given him drive after drive on good horses. I think he will go with Guaranteed. Not even driving Restepo sat night - driving Yankee Rockstar.

Restrep is the interesting one. I thought Gav may have hopped on him and not Yankee Rockstar and even perhaps chose Restrepo over Guaranteed for the final. Chris Alford would be going with Lennytheshark, so who gets the drive there. G Hall will be on Boaz so not sure of the local WA drivers or a Vic - Pitt or Lee might get a good pickup drive?
