Blow me down.....I have totally missed the construction of a sprint lane at Menangle.

I have to disagree on 1 point Pat - the value of a drawcard like Lenny for a Cup.
I think he helped them get a good crowd and I have come to believe that short priced favorites rarely hurt turnover and so wonder whether admins attempts to counter them has any point.
Every time I study turnover for a race like this latest Kilmore Cup, I find the same thing.
The Win pool on Vic TAB was only* $16k+ but the place pool was the meet's biggest at nearly $16k and the First 4 pool was a massive* $88k (7x's the previous race)
I don't know if there was a guaranteed pool but even if it was it was smart thinking.
My casual observations only but it seems to me that 'trot' races are a turnover killer* (unless we have the French on board)
* are not intentional - I think it is because I am still having to cut and paste to post

Found this on some ones twitter.....
This is what 12 months of TLC & some retraining has done for Milo, one of the starving thoroughbreds seized in Bulla last April.

Doesn't this article just break your heart.
That was 12 months ago and the figure that astonishes is how they had seized 139 horses in the first Q of 2016 compared to 1 for the same period in 2015

Thankfully we have people in the world like this.
