That's what it is all about Kev, a good time and a couple of "small" bets. This type of promotion and activity does more for racing than people sitting at home in front of the TV placing bets. My hat goes off to those people who attend the track on racing days/nights and help to support the industry even on those cold wintry nights and a 6 goal breeze at Melton. You have also added a bit of tax on that bookGreat stuff.
Redwood Day is everything that is enjoyable about the game.
Thank heavens it is run at Maryborough by such passionate people and not Melton!
A bit of a late positive as I meant to post it on Friday but it is a constant - Dan Mieliki. He is a fantastic caller - he does it so easily, he is able to sprinkle extra info into his calls thus making it more than what you can see for yourself

I reckon he might be the best caller in the country although he does have some hot competition from SA and QLD. You have described him to a tee Kev.
Not sure of their name/s (Aaron White?), there might even be 2 of them but the guys who call Alexandra Park and Adddington are excellent although they do tend to wax lyrical on occasions. They bring a race alive and have good knowledge of the horses and the background/history of them.
Turnover wise it sounds like things are heading in the right direction.
Victoria to have $40m prizemoney for the first time

Looks that way>
Big change though in the number of races at tracks:
11 last night at Shepparton, 11 tonight at Bendigo, 12 tomorrow night at Kilmore, 11 at Mildura on Friday, followed by 9 at Melton. 11 at Cranbourne on Saturday night followed by 10 at Cobram on Sunday.
That's 75 races in 6 days at 7 tracks.
This big change may bring its own set of issues..float parking, stall availability, and increased workload for vets, stewards, race day staff and vounteers.
But it looks really positive.
A bit late I suppose but I have just started relying on the Vic video replays instead of tuning onto Sky 1 live and the races look so good on my HD computer monitor, who cares if I have to wait a little while to view them.
It wasn't that long ago that you would never consider going to Full screen to view replays but now they look better than your TV!
