Waiting for Charlton on Sky, I just saw a race from Te Teko in NZ
Teecee, a question - does the countryside go brown anywhere in NZ?
No early start under the heat policy at Charlton today - maybe they knew it would already be 35 by midday (so what would be the point) and they are hoping for the change to come early. First isn't until 1.52pm, it could be 37+
(It sure put me off making the drive)

Yes Kev it sure does. We are getting all your heat here with temps in the mid to high 30;s The coldest part of NZ at the bottom of the south is getting continual 30 plus days an Aussie humidity nights. Not what we are used to. Even the West Coast of the south island is this year in an official drought. The wettest, greenest place over here.
If you see green anywhere here at the moment it's probably a dairy farm with 24/7 irrigators.
Aerodyne Fella - breaks his maiden at start 95. Pays his feedbill every week but the owners are more patient than I

Meritorious Service Award Annulled
06 February 2018
The Harness Racing Australia (HRA) Honours Committee today approved a recommendation to annul the Meritorious Service Award of Mr Larry Eastman.
Mr Eastman was presented the prestigious national award in 2015, but having been found guilty of numerous corrupt conduct charges in the Bendigo Magistrates Court and sentenced late last month, he was no longer considered suitable to sit alongside the names of previous or future award recipients..
I suppose that is a positive. If closing the stable door after the horse has bolted is a positive.
Due diligence?
Gary Hall Snr had 5 starters for 4 wins and a 2nd at Pinjarra yesterday. Pretty good results. He recently got our boy Jack Mac's half bro, which was one of the winners
