Not quite meeting the criteria but Cyclone George?
I am trying to think of the name of a horse that raced in the 90's
_ _ _ _ _ George
He was a NZ import
He mostly raced for the Manning stable
Like many of theirs he raced tough
He progressed far enough to be one of those horses making up the numbers in an Inter series

You've also made me remember another beauty from the past, Orse M Wheels Bro!
Thanks but nah Breno
The Mannings definitely had him, he may have even started with smaller trainer David Manning. David had a good horse for our family called Dillon Dave and I think this horse was related but not directly.
I have tried searching via breeding lines but failed

Speedo George?
Maybe. He meets a lot of the criteria - decade, Mannings, Interdom
But I am still not sure - I didn't think the name was that catchy and I felt sure he was an import
I will let you know Breno, thanks for half putting me out of my misery
I will sound out a couple of people I have not been in contact with for yonks to confirm

Wasn't Le george back in the 60s
Back O Benachie. Iron horse, raced over 300 times and contested the 2001 ID series at Albion Park before going to North America.
From memory, its owners got into syndication in a big way but fell foul of the ATO in no small way.
Correction: the head of the syndicate fell foul of the State Revenue Office, not the ATO. To the tune of around $10.1 million of collected state taxes that found their way to overseas betting accounts rather than the State. Only cost him 10 years with a non-parole period of 7. The Benachie Group syndicate (named after the horse) was Victoria's leading owner around 2000, 2001.
I am proud to possess two horse of the year trophies with full knowledge that it kept me in the poor house, but not the big house, to win them!
FBI Fernandez Brothers Incorporated - I think they even wore FBI caps
