Lightning Dan having his first start in the 2yo at Horsham today is a full bro to Tough Tilly and a half bro to the other star juvenile Centenario
A good 2nd but we were remiss not to have backed the winner as it was highlighted for the fastest 400 of the night in the following article during the week (I thought it would be too short and didn't even tune in)

They dont get much greener than Lightning Dan but he still won
Those who backed him into $1.04 would have been having heart failure

Well Fiamma would not be out of place in a pony trot but she did it tough and showed them a clean pair of heels

For those who have seen Paul Campbells video/interview with David Miles on how he measures yearlings as a guide to whether they will be ready for 2yo racing, I wonder whether this little girl would have measured up

Very well bred filly, her dam has already left Flaming Flutter. Her dam Twice as Hot, by In the Pocket, is a 3//4 sister to Goodlooking Girl (Christian Cullen - also by In the Pocket). This makes Fianna an extremely close relation to Jean Feiss' former outstanding filly Elle Mac, both being by Bettors Delight. Ability aside, they are at the opposite ends of the size scale, Elle having her name because she reminded her breeder's of a certain supermodel.
Speaking of Jean, tonight she again reminded everyone she is the greatest judge of yearlings in a he Southern Hemisphere. Probably ever! True Fantasy came from last on the turn on a bog track to win the group 1 Caduceus Club Classic at Alexandra Park tonight. The filly became her 4th winner of the race in 6 years. Her previous winners were Spanish Armada ($787k in stake earnings) in 2016, Elle Mac ($611k) in 2017, Amazing Dream ($890k before her sale) in 2019 were all yearling sale purchases. Ruby Rose finished 6th in 2018, her only miss in this race. No doubt all of them will boost the broodmare ranks, the first two already have had foals.
Her horses seem to love Alexandra Park, with Vincent (2017), Self Assured (2019), yearling purchases in NSW and NZ, and Amazing Dream (2020) all won Auckland Cups and her only starters in the race. Remarkable success.
As Dan said "Can't Lauriston get a good horse", I'm sure he meant breed Anne
Both Beach Villa and Commander Buzz both lived up to their breeding and are going to be horses of the future

Spellbound proved too good for Tangoingwithsierra last night. Both mares would be Top 10 in their respective countries
Spellbound's 3rd dam (Our) Stretto was also a NZer but after 8 unsuccessful starts as a 2yo in NZ she came to Oz where she won 6 with 2 seconds from 8 starts as a 2yo-3yo at Albion Park before going to NSW where she won 15 races at Harold Park
