I was in Horsham today and the number of people already rolling in for the Long Weekend/Sunday Fishing Competition was amazing. It would be good for the Horsham club if they could 'catch' some of them before they go home on Monday

What caused the abandonment of Cranbourne tonight?

Extremely heavy rainfall in a short period of time. Lyndhurst, between Dandenong and Cranbourne, copped 38mm and West Gippsland really copped it in parts. I would suggest the track was badly rutted.

Thanks Trev, thought that could be it but Cranbourne does not have a 24hr weather station to check, nearest is Frankston who only had 3mm

If you have ever had questions about some horses perfomances being a little variable I'd suggest you take a look at Western Ricki and his record depending on who is working him.......amazing the difference!!

Yep, until last night, all 5 of his wins came in NW Vic from a 7 start stay with the Douglas stable. Strange. Would Tamworth be a better class of horse than Mildura Dan?
