Still nothing in official media - no reply from Chief Steward, polite non-answer from HRV
Nobody is denying it - I think they just want it to go away - sorry, it is not going to happen without a detailed release
peterprofit.com is reporting that HRV are dropping all the charges against Douglas and Tormey
I am not sure how they do that when they have found them guilty and disqualified them for 2 yrs and 1½ yrs in December 2019 as seen below

HRV will not put out a statement. If they are dropping the charges then won't hear anything until the next court date whenever that is. Unless there is a leak. "As the matter is before the courts blah-blah-blah".
There has now been an official announcement
At the request of both parties, VCAT set aside the decision of the HRV RAD Board made on 11 December 2019 and dismissed both the charge laid against Ms Tormey under Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 193(7) and the charge laid against Mr Douglas under AHRR 193(1) relating to the horse ‘The Boss Man’.

So the public become mushrooms - kept in the dark with no explanation.
It is possibly a good thing that we will be getting a new Chief Steward
There was of course the other Disqualification received by Tormey

Now downgraded to a suspension of her trainers license with 8mths suspended because they don't want to impose too much hardship upon her
The harm caused to the industry by having cheating, seems to be a secondary consideration
I am guessing it means she cannot train for 4mths but can continue to drive

The complete lack of transparency here is beyond belief.
HRV says "integrity matters" but how it has handled this announcement and total lack of explanation how and why Tormey and Douglas' have walked away from The Boss Man race day tubing saga is devoid of integrity. We are non the wiser, the link in HRV's story only details Tormey's Mildura charge.
HRV's Sgt Frank Drebin approach to informing industry stakeholders of details of the proceedings of this extremely high profile and scandalous inquiry does it no favours. Secrecy is not an option if you are serious about integrity.
I always have found that certain ppl are protected in this industry. delays in cases that are clear cut i find it mind boggling. the little ppl who havent got money to pay for legals take it on the chin. others who go down the Law court way seem to be left alone and many are portrayed as Industry Stars. and they take the money away from the general fairplay people. come on deal with this stuff quick. no wonder im not in the industry anymore.
You have nailed it.
More to the point controlling bodies just don't have the budget to fight for what is fair.
