Anne would be pretty happy to see Beach Villa set a new Tk Rec of 1.53.2 first up at Kilmore today

Yes I was happy with Beach Villa. He showed promise as a juvenile but lost his way for a while. He is a horse who loves to lead and run along, he feels good about himself in front. Mark Pitt drives him well, let’s him do his own thing . Doesn’t like to go much further than a mile though.
He sounds perfect for those American conquests you were contemplating Anne![]()

Looking in last night's racebook, you find Tk Records for 2 & 3yo's for both fillies and colts. Why don't we have Open age Tk Records divided by age so that we know what the fastest ever time by a mare is?

I was looking at the Melton Racebook too and would like to know how current the TK Records in the back of the book are. Maybe they have not been updated for some time. The Racebook lists the Honour Roll for the winners of the nights feature races. Ladies In Red won the 2020 2 year old Homegrown Fillies Final over 1720m in a mile rate 1.51.9 yet this is not listed as a Track Record for 2 year old fillies.
A quick thumbing through several dozen Showgrounds race books from the 1970's indicates track and class records (remember them?) by the next meeting. That was when the Trotting Control Board consisted of around a dozen staff, including stewards and the equivalent or today's Harness Web was a couple of manual typewriters and a filing cabinet full of cards. Fifty years on we have Bonno.
