New HRA website

RISE are working on an upgrade to the harness.org.au website (hopefully to be up and running in 2023)

It will have new capabilities around wagering, advertisement and more importantly a better customer experience. During the build phase, they want to talk with users to ensure they hit the mark with the new website.

I do not like the sound of this. Until recently, GM Dan was hosting microsoft teams meetings on how to improve the HRA website. Andrew Kelly further entrenched?

When you have a look at the Swedish homepage, you can see why Dan was wanting an update to HRA's (chalk and cheese)

Hmm, you do realise that this is the equivalent of a TAB site that only deals with racing? In Sweden the ATG has exclusive rights to racing wagering within the country. No other betting agencies. But there is a huge upside to this, the ATG is actually owned by the racing codes, all profit goes back into racing! That is where the funds for marketing power come from. In Australia we have third party vested interests ripping the money away into private shareholders and stakeholders pockets leaving those who do the work running around for $2000 and $4500 races.

Of course I realize it
Google 'Swedish Trotting Association' people
and you find that they own 90% of ATG
AND ATG comes up as if it is their homepage

I made the point that it looks heaps better than HRA's homepage which would likely have had a much more modern look and betting slant if Dan and his upgrade had continued (I was part of a Microsoft teams weekly hook up)

So what is your point/opinion about the quality of the pages?

You will have a hard time finding their HRA industry type homepage
I only found it by shortening the link to an equipment pdf

It is closer to the Harnesslink News page in appearance
A far more modern look than HRA's homepage but not as good as the ATG offering
which is probably why they put the ATG front and centre

I guess they have the best of both worlds.
They have the ATG page which you would go to for fields, results, replays, betting - a page that prioritizes trotting unlike our own TAB equivalent
and they have the Swedish Trotting Sport page which is for news etc

It is designed to be more punter friendly and looks cleaner

When it was being formulated (the early team meetings I was privy to) it was hoped to get Betting Odds/Sponsorship up there and eventually live racing (like TrotsVision)

I have reservations about the News tab if you click on it
Having the stories in 'boxes' instead of lists just makes the News less user friendly IMO
I would also do without the Latest News tab and move Lead News from last to first in its place

Probably Katie, somehow I was part of a working party/feedback group when it was taking shape (before Dan's exodus), I must say I took Dan's exodus to mean it was being canned as he had said that the preliminary work/shape of things was ready to go to the executive. Anyway, having heard nothing from anyone after that, I will leave it to them - we are struggling as a forum but astute administration should be across all social media including us

Unless it is just a bug in the system, HRA (harness.org.au) seems to be the only place to find the fields
The problem with that however is that if you have gone to HRV (thetrots.com.au) to watch TrotsVision - you want the fields at your fingertips too

I can see that the new HRA is all geared up to the punter and is quite impressive but I am still using the old HRA as it is too fiddly to find old results (even yesterdays) on the new page

It was a bug. HRV / thetrots.com has fields back today

Maybe I can be converted to the new HRA site
Going to the Results tab has its rewards with a very attractive results display
