It was because 3rd time lucky. If the front tape failed to go across the track that is not good , 1st attempt . The 2nd time , a horse reared & it was off again , the 3rd time I missed it as I went & got a cup of tea!!!!!
The Oaks & Derby were the better races anyway . That was not the greatest RC field .

Back in the day it was by road everywhere , except Archer , he walked . Another stride last night & Triple Eight wins .
Triple still has that magnificent finish even at 10yrs of age. It would be nice to see him get to $1m but with $85k to go, I am not sure he will make it. He has 2 wins with half the season down whereas last season he won 8. A rich country cup would help but there are not many of them anymore in Vic
