Rc1 Got awfully close just beaten into 2nd but Eipermill still needs to learn to race, much improved manners today though. The winner for a first starter knew how to race and was given a gem of a drive.
Rc3 Probably expect a last start winner still racing in same class of race (against probably weaker horses) to lob better than 5 back pegs but it was a bit unfortunate that it did lob there.
Rc4 Navaebend led in 28.6 and 28.7 first two quarters was always going to fade late and fell in a big hole at the 100m. That said the winner was wide early and did its fair share of work so probably beaten by the better horse.
Rc5 LOL all time terrible tip. Tipped top 3 faves and 5th fave and managed to run the last 4!
Rc6 Sports Candy got 4th, 2nd best run in the race behind the winner
Rc7 Not to be with the throw at the stumps Dust to Diamonds at 100/1. Absolute ripping drive by Bruce Harpley but just shows how good Western Sonador is that he was able to get the win.
Rc8 As Kev mentioned saved in the last (for the 2nd week running). Ended up 4 pegs but some great steering from Harpley got her over the line.

    Around a 10 unit loss

Knocking on the door Kev just can't quite get there!

Honestly don't think I can find a winner this Saturday. Very competitive races.

Rc4 2nd beaten fair and square

Rc5 Hanover Sunshine galloped miss start hopelessly - personal final mile probably shits this in. Sure Bet Shannon 2nd for 6.3units returned
Rc6 Chip galloped and Harry 4th would have won with a clear run
Rc8 Finally a change of luck for a sprint lane win. 16 units returns.

0.2unit loss for the day with 3 gallopers including largest stake! But laying Trunkey Tash in Rc7 would have seen a win.
Had merely an interest bet and got beaten a head @ $81 !

    Monday 4th May
    Early thoughts

    Rc1
Nobbys Clock probably get a good run in from that draw and is probably the best horse in the race alongside Caymangone. Caymangone draw carpark though. If Sure Bet Shannon or even Nippers Grin can lead will be hard to run down. Soho Beijing for exotics

    Rc2
Say It Again leads which allows Good Time Nedra to stroll to an easy sprint lane victory.

    Rc4
I really rate Sports Candy and if she could race against her pattern to grab the early lead it will leave Red with a bit of work to do.Ultimate Risk was a good run 1st up, wouldn't be surprised to see them press forward this week.

    Rc5
Amanda Dean no stranger to a winner of late and Slick Sue drawn favourably I can see getting up here. Hopefully Our Mach Jack comes back, a sign of how is career is going is that he once beat home Bright Energy as a 2yo.

    Rc6
What an all time bunch of slow horses, the mornings are starting to get to 5 degrees and people are getting up to work these things! If its any sort of odds probably worth a gamble Shane Hallcroft shows the initiative to lead and maybe, just maybe Junior Feelgood can capitalise on the better draw.

    Rc7
Turns out Rc6 wasn't an all time bunch of slow horses, this lot goes close. As per last starts we have to keep following Zoes Regal down in grade and Auckland Star who showed some kind of ability 18 months ago. Keep a watch on Notorious Joe, a horse beaten 65m last start who I can see quite reasonable starting fave.

    Rc8
Forget what I said about the last two races. This is division SEVEN of the NR55 races. I reckon I could run quicker than this lot. The rest are 1/63 this season while Sports Street is somehow 2/17 including a win over Rocky Creed who is a fair dinkum good metro grade horse. Under the highly flawed PBD barrier allotment gets into the running line straight away.

Honestly about to give up at this point in time.
Rc1 Call the winner best horse in the race but didn't back it because too short for my liking
Rc2 Gallops losing about 50m and get beat 10m
Rc4 Nice 4th fading late, had a dip for the lead but pole horse @ $71 decides to kick up and then proceeds to drop out to last by the 400m. Only a junior driver but needs time for that drive.
Rc5 Still hasn't seen clear air
Rc6 Paddles the last 300m beaten 1m after leading and having the chance to slow them down.

Not tipping all that badly but results are just not happening.

    Edit:

Rc7 Picked Notorious Joe as the deserved favourite but looks elsewhere with my bets. At least this time they were just shit tips which I can handle.

    Edt2:

Rc8. Becoming a last race specialist. Got shunted 4 wide around the final bend but still just got its nose front on the line.

11 units returned. Quite a frustrating period.

Finished that post, market for Terang pops up on Sky. Think to myself "Onthecrestofawave' looks overs on basis it had been running at Melton pre lockdown. Didn't have a cent on and wins @ $12. In fairness something went amiss with the $1.50 favourite so it was probably just lucky to win, but really sums up my night.

It was $19 fixed Brendan and paid even better on the Vic tote
See my post in Odds and Ends thread - the Manning's were more than likely going to stitch he fav up anyway (although no results are up to check whether the times would have indicated such)

Yeah when the caller said Grant Campbell was on the leader I shook my head a bit. Don't really know the favourite too well but considering it started favourite it probably would have ran them down - it was a low 28 final qtr from the caller (I think) but it would have seen fresh air early enough to run them down.

    Friday May 8

5x heats of the $100K regional championships. Some good horses going around.

    Rc1.
Good 3yo race. Geraldton Wax was fantastic last start but poor draw here. Jimmy Beach worries because Eurell usually only races good ones. Jackie Anne and Harry Ovens winning form so will be thereabouts. The one I can see opening up about 40/1 and you couldn't really touch on her last couple is Ab Fab. In her current form won't be getting near it and admittedly unlikely to turn it around now but a couple months ago would have been starting about $3. Worth a spec if big odds.

    Rc2
Not going to be much between Tinka Terror and Fastestgirlintown here at the finish. If Tinka holds lead that will hurt Fastestgirlintown, whereas if Tinka hands up they will be finishing side by side. However they might be fighting out 2nd, Rhianna Reigns has been absolutely fantastic last two and despite the bad draw I expect her to find these a bit easier. Should be winning. Perhaps a nice Exacta/Trifecta.

    Rc3.
Mach Sam might appreciate his best draw for a while but Western Sonador will be a class above. Delightful Jackie will fly home for a place.

    Rc4
Only betting on this race is how far Whereyabinboppin. Blaster Ranger for the Exacta

    Rc5
The best mix of competitive heat and class. I'd have Rocky Creed on top but he will face some stiff oppo from TIme Keepa Lombo. Shadow Sign was sensatinal last two and will give some cheek, with the right run Roll Out can be nearabouts.

    Rc6
Rocky Branach from We Salute purely on the draw. Tipping Sports Candy for third...so expect it to run 4th again.

    Rc7
Probably the weakest heat but Brooklyns Best went to another level last start so I expect her to win. Rockita probably best of the rest but a tricky draw.

    Rc8
Great little race. Slick Blaster flying but he may not have the gate speed of Georgie Martin so if he can't cross will make it hard for the 3yo up against older horses. Rubies for Tash cruel draw will be hoping the run along. Rusty Crackers for exotics. Great battle - race of the day for mine.
