I notice that Yirribee stud has some great discount on most of their stallions this year due to the virus. I hope other studs take notice.
Well done to them.

Don't die wondering !
Guess he's no longer shuttling Kev
Shame, Im keen to see how he performs
Breeding horses requires HEAPS of patience.
Reading the article about the Ronans

I looked up Yes Mate who, as mentioned in the article, is making his debut in R1 at Echuca tonight
He is the only foal of one of their mares who has been served by some commercial sires but who was it that got the positive - the home breeder Daroobalgie.
Daroobalgie had a good record but as a Nuke Of Earl son out of Mistress Monique, an Apollo Eleven mare, there was no miracle and he is a very modest sire
If you have never heard of Apollo Eleven, that might be because Mistress Monique ($83k) was his only progeny to pay her way

Apollo Eleven was a very good Simpson-bred horse trained by Kevin Newman in the early 70s. Golden Adios - Minnesota from memory, stood at lower profile studs. Did leave 34 winners Kev, if you look deeper. His dam, foaled nearly 70 years ago, followed him to Sydney in the early 50s and was a very good producer. Royal State was a Showgrounds regular for Alf Simons when I was a kid, Apollo Eleven won 50 grand when that would have built you a luxury home, his sister Admin was a good Sydney trotter, Karamea Minna was a top filly and producer, Miner Karamea was handy in WA. I had an early association with Minnesota Express, her last foal dropped when she was 23. He was very fast but used to favour his knee. The small tracks back then didn't suit him, he would be a good horse today.
I know the fastest he ever went was 85 MPH. That was in a single float behind a Phase II Falcon GT on the Loddon Valley Highway, running a little late to get to Nyah for his first win. That was 44 years ago this month, l love how the old names keep popping up!
Our Cavort (Cavort NZ) had one 2yo start in NZ before starting her Oz career with a win for the Sugars on debut at Ballarat
I bet they wish they kept her.
Not so much for her other 14 wins (all but one in SA)
Our Cavort is the dam of Encipher
Her SA trainer Tyson Linke somehow ended up as her owner for the last of those wins - her last start
He is the breeder and sole owner of Encipher and the sole recipient of the majority of the $300k 2yo fillies Breeders Crown

Final Bow who won R1 at Geelong tonight is an example of some extreme inbreeding

If you have big bucks to spend at the yearling sales and can wait a couple of years, here is an alternative for you
Buy the dam of Princess Tiffany in foal to a full sibling

After the King's win tonight in this his last season of racing before going to stud, they suggested that as a son of Rocknroll Hanover he will be in demand and could even go to the US
It would be 1000/1 as Rocknroll Hanover's best siring sons - Rock N Roll Heaven, Pet Rock and Rockin Image are not even featured stallions on the USTA's stallion showcase

Maybe the 3yo season of Betting Line's first crop will be the making of him as a sire downunder?
First starter at Shep tonight Our Lola Mae could not be more impressive winning by 30m untouched in 1.55.4, that is only 2.9 secs off the Tk Rec
Whether it is the Betting Line blood or the mare we may never know - Lola is a half sis to Milly Perez
