Kevin...Exactly where is this in Marnoo?
My first school posting after Teacher's College was Banyena...not quite a suburb of Marnoo
The local Healy champs were just getting going...I think Lester Dalton had Instigator and Jeff Reading had Dunmunkle Rose.
Hi Noel, it is in the median strip in the Main Street. Did a tour around a few country towns this week, sadly half are semi ghost towns and Marnoo probably falls into that category. The pub is still open so they are alive but the oval looks like it no longer supports cricket or football. I didn't check if they still had a school - essential for a town to survive

Thanks Noel!
Well done Dave Murphy on getting a well deserved win with Vote Pedro. But what was John Meade thinking on challenging the leader that aggressively? Maorisfavouritesun is a good horse but was never gonna get the lead.
And quite an amazing Monte win in the last race by Vics Cheval, if you havent seen it watch the replay here http://www.harness.org.au/meeting-re...ic#JRC17041511
Celtic Rose wins VSTA Trotters Cup Final showing how she has improved about 10 lengths under C Alfords training/driving. Shes a whole new animal.
Nice win by Kyvalley Blur in the EB Cochran Trotters Cup, good to see him back to his best. Kind of top run by The Boss Man, but i say that as there were quite a few either unlucky or bad/disappointing runs too...
Stoned I Am ran a shocker after a raved about trial and massive drop in Fixed-Odds, Sunset Invasion looked perfectly placed and plodded and Bruneleschi locked wheels and lost lengths and momentum. However top run Our Overanova!
Big day At Coolamon tomorrow Sunday 19th, less than a full card of Squaregaiters like previous years and most races small fields, so doesnt look like a good trend there...
COOLAMON ABANDONED...
Last edited by Maorisidol; 04-19-2015 at 01:27 AM. Reason: cooloamon abandoned
Coolamon was a failure from the start , not a good track and too hard to get to for the prize money offered , hopefully they will wake up and run it in a more appropriate place possibly somewhere near where people actually train trotters
Yes good call David, its been a good intention but based on what you said seems to have too many pitfalls.
Would be great to see it thrive like the Maryborough carnival which last year actually grew to 3 days!
Coolamon did get support from a lot of Vic trainers but obviously a change of track and location is needed as is evident by this years numbers.
Hopefully either another track or whoever can make an executive decision, can announce a change for next year.
However i applaud Coolamon on being courageous enough to start such a day!
