I see that we again have the Melton night meeting this Monday with the second half trots for the French and the same thing for most of Summer

How exciting was Jilliby Outlaw's win in the Stawell Trotters Cup today
He began badly and gave the leader 50m start but watch the finish for yourself
Jilliby and his 4 previous dams were bred by Ray Chaplin of Equine Excellence who's outstanding reports on the problems in our harness racing you might remember as they have been posted on this forum

ps 3rd placed El Paco is an 'uncle' to the winner

There is some perfect symmetry in this story too, I had noticed if I went back one more generation, the breeder of Jilliby Outlaw's 5th dam was Dick Lee and Ray has told me that Dick lent him the mare which is how Ray came to breed the next 5 generations with Jilliby Outlaw ending up in Paddy's barn - Dick's nephew

Jilliby Outlaw's 3yo half bro, Aballofmuscle, won his second start from 6 in a Platinum Home Grown at Melton last night. He was second outsider of the small field of 6 and paid the nice dividend of $12.40 (another bred by Ray)

I never bet on trotters as their greater risk of breaking is a chance I do not need to take.
LOL today at Maryborough in the racebook competition to pick the last 5 races, I could not go past the accomplished trotter Endsino to beat an ordinary bunch of pacers
He actually started favourite but you can guess what he did as soon as the mobile released them

Depending on the result of the VXAR, it might be a while before Sky Majesty goes around $1.10 fav again
Led and left alone but could not run a place

If doing the form for the open Trot at Bendigo on Sunday I would suggest watching the open trot from Maryborough on Thursday. Near identical fields.
It is a Victorian thing Breno - going to my local tracks all within a couple of hours of each other, I would often think "I have seen this race before"

Looking at the winning mile rates of the six 3yo Vicbred heats at Bendigo tonight, it is amazing how even they are:
Fillies 2.00.5 2.01.6 2.00.8
Colts 2.00.7 2.00.7 2.01.1
