The Doggies are the biggest joke Noel. Even a non follower like me knew Bate used to win everything with his 'Bale' dogs before being sprung. Of course I heard about his suspension but unlike us the doggies do not even get their dirty washing aired by The Age

I reckon credit where it's due. The current admin, Chairman and CEO, at GRV had/have been very public with cases like Graeme Bate's. Quite a lot of GRV driven exposure via radio and the Herald Sun. In what I thought was a masterful bit of PR in making a negative become a positive (no pun intended) they successfully appealed Bate's 2 years, resulting in the 3 years. The Chairman and CEO emphasised no matter how successful or decorated the trainer, or participant, they will suffer the consequences. Great for participation rates, and I'd have thought, great for the punters and turn over. The case involving Jenny Hunt was aired on RSN yesterday with a GRV media guy with more to be aired next week.
This might be an interesting yarn, although these kinds of stories on the codes can tend to keep going over old ground

Will be interesting to see the currency of the reporting...and if in fact current day administrators ARE truly trying to ensure what might have been is not repeated.
The true dogs, and that's being disrespectful to the greyhound, will be behind bars hopefully.
