ConcessionDriver Term Extension

Tuesday 14 August 2012

The HRNSW Board has performed the annualreview of the Concession Driver Terms and Conditions.

It had become apparent during the course ofmany years that Concession Drivers who were not linked to large stables werereceiving little opportunity early in their careers and were gaining most oftheir drives and also starting to drive winners towards the end of their Term.

Following an application to consider anadjustment to the Terms and Conditions the HRNSW Board resolved to implementthe following clause to the Concession Driver Terms and Conditions:

Term Extension
Should a driver not win 50 races during the Term then they will receive a two year Term Extension.

The Term Extension will end upon whichever of the following occurs first:

  1. a driver wins the 50th race of their career

  1. at the conclusion of the 2nd racing season of the Term Extension

Term Extensions are not retrospective and commence with drivers coming out of their Term on 31 August 2012.

It is envisaged that the Term Extensionwill help to maintain up and coming drivers as harness racing participants andwill stimulate the careers of drivers that became established towards the endof their Term.

The changes to the Terms and Conditions are effectivefrom 1 September 2012.
