Alta Christiano's Mighty Ronaldo won the Golden Slipper at GP last night

    http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...20#GPM10072001

If you are watching the replay he is near last on the fence but gets into the 1x3 at the bell (the caller does not call him for over a minute)

I would not be surprised if Celestialfragrance, winner of the 2yo at Stawell yesterday at only his second start, has better races in him

    http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...20#SWC15072007

If you go back and look at his first start you will see that they took the cautious approach from easing him out from the draw and he had to come from last

I cannot remember the last 2yo race at Mildura (not that I follow them closely)
There are 2 going around in a 2&3yo combined tomorrow
First starter Union King has an interesting 3m x 3f Abercrombie cross
His 2nd dam is a half sister to Aus Gp1 winner Kingstar (who went to the US and ended up having 324 starts - placed in over half of them)

Bondi Lockdown made an impressive debut at Stawell today
He rated 1.57.1 despite going awkwardly around the tight top turn to run down the ever consistent Bonnie Belle
You have to factor in that the Tk Rec at Stawell is only 1.55.7
He is a Somebeachsomewhere half bro to Rocknroll Eyes and Joeys Hangover

The last at Shep was some race between Idyllic and Lochinvar Chief
The Chief can follow in his illustrious stablemate's footsteps and become a future topliner
Idyllic was backed off the map but he was first up compared to LC being 3rd up
I had missed Idyllic's breeding up until tonight - he is a full bro to Australian 2yo and 3yo filly of the year Petacular

Thanks to one of our New South Wales readers for pointing this one out to me.
Check out Soho Almasi winning at Menangle yesterday
She rated 1.52.7 winning untouched by 16m coming home in 26.2

    http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fie...20#PCC14092007

This was only her 3rd start, she won her first just as easily at Melton back in Feb (before blowing her next start when odds on for the Pink Bonnet)
Her mum Fususi was a star juvenile

The season would once have been over but we are just now getting serious in VIC and I assume so in NSW too
I thought we were seeing a bit of Stewart/Tonkin domination but when I looked at HRA's Top 20 stats
I see they have some ground to make up
You don't find a Vic until No.13 and that is Treachery thanks to a SA raid
8 of the Top 12 2yo earners at this point are from WA. QLD have 3

    Sent another one from NSW
Bar Room Banta ran 1.51.8 in the 2yo at Menangle yesterday
    Would that be a RECORD?
(a lot of age records are going to be broken with the season extended until Dec 31 forevermore)

Bar Room Banta’s 1min51.8sec mile, at just his third start, was just a half-second outside the Australasian record of 1min51.3sec set by Ignatius back on June 25, 2017.

Bar Room Banta is trained by Mick Stanley in Victoria, but loan to Craig Cross and Luke McCarthy to target the NSW Breeders Challenge.
